it would be amazing if there was a way to create a messaging system, which i assume is in the works cause the top bar button, but also having a game chatroom where people can come in and talk to others. as well as having a function to follow a game/category and being able to "favorite runs" to get to them faster or for supporting the runner

Alright, back from my vacation. Time to get to work.

I've got a LOT of messages built up, so please be patient and I'll try to get around to everything.

I hate how I cant upload my splits. I cant upload a .zip or .rar, the site just won't accept it.

Hey I think I have a problem: Trying to submit Little mermaid run for NES, but the nes runs all say they're Gameboy and I have no other option to submit under (...but that is another game with another leaderboard. Thanks!

Would it be possible to add middle click for opening videos when on a leaderboard page?

Pac told me to write this on the forum, so here goes:

Have some better way to make sure people understand video proof is required if a leaderboard sets it. I get people submitting runs with things such as "N/A" in it which I'm just gonna reject anyway.

Also I noticed on the submit page, things that are required have a star (¤) next to their names but nowhere does it say what this stands for. Of course for some people it might be common sense, but I still think it should be added.

As per irc, the submit run page now notes that ¤ indicates a required field.

How about a "Show misc categories" button on profiles too? Those categories are typically not exactly the most important ones and shouldn't necessarily be seen by default, right? Not sure about rom hacks/mods being there by default either, but maybe I am just nitpicking.

Another thing I could think about is the "time in milliseconds" checkbox. You cannot seperate these for ILs and full game runs and in most cases it would probably be preferred to have full runs without milliseconds unless we're talking about really short games. Reason I am bringing that up is the tons of submissions I get with milliseconds in games where we don't really need milliseconds in the times but have the box checked due to ILs.

Small suggestion for api_records.php?game=....

If you enter a game's url code, it should go to that game rather than searching for it in the title. For example http://www.speedrun.com/api_records.php?game=sms should give the super mario sunshine records because http://www.speedrun.com/sms is the super mario sunshine page.

This has been implemented.

Hi Pac, everyone. Thanks for accepting my game request. I just have an issue regarding forum topics. I started a forum topic for my game but it doesn't show up on the forums main page.

Edit: Found it under Other Series :D

That's because it wasn't added to the ZotE series, so it appeared in the "Other" series. It should be fixed.

Any word on having separate game variables per category?

Germany

Oh, when someone requests a single new game, give them the possibility to request them to be added to a certain existing game series too. There are tons of Dragon Ball games thrown around everywhere and don't land on the series page OpieOP

The whole variables system is due for reimplementation, tbh. There are still bunch of things that have higher priority, but it is definitely something that should be possible.

I've added them to the series, but yeah that is a sensible suggestion.
