Questions About Obtaining Diamond Record

Hi so my name is welcomin, I was introduced to speedrunnning in bedwars about three days ago and devised a way to get the Obtain a diamond record. I practiced it for a couple days and ended up being the third person to get a 10 second run. For some reason I am on the list for being fourth instead of third and my run was 10.26 seconds when the person in third place (for being first) is 10.45. Did I do something wrong so that I was moved down. Also another question, in the rules it says round to the nearest number and on my Ultimate Diamond Collection run I got 12.41 seconds but was given 13s when I see other people get 10.45 seconds and get counted for 10 seconds, and 11.45 seconds counted for 11 seconds. I would just like to be cleared up on a few things, Thank you very much.

Because the game has tied times (which is weird when the time of these runs is so short) you aren't 4th, but are actually tied for 1st with three other runners. When there are tied runs, these runs are sorted first by run date and then (age of user, see comment by @Oreo321).

If you want the leaderboard to be more accurate, you would have to convince the moderators to retime every run, which may be a hard sell (even though it isn't that much work).

I can't find your 12.41 s run, I assume you deleted it (which is unnecessary).

If they were by run date then I would be third as I did mine before the current third holder. And if it were alphabetical then I would also be third as there is a man with a Z to start and mine is a W.

Speedrun.com doesn't track the time runs happened, only the date. In order, here are the four runs with date.

Doogile 2021-02-16 (This is ordered first because it is the earliest run with 10 seconds.) Zuhiy 2021-02-20 (This is ordered second because it is the second earliest run with 10 seconds.) ImTooFlimzy 2021-02-21 (This is ordered third because it happened the same day as your run and this runner's account is older than your account.) welcomin 2021-02-21 (This is ordered fourth.)

Regardless, all these runs have a rank of 1st.

There is no “current third holder.” All four of you are tied for first. Your run wasn’t before that other runner; both were on the same day.

oh okay so it doesnt track that mine was 5 hours before. And it just goes into alphabetical if they were the same day. Thanks! Also do you know about the round to nearest number stuff because I would like to understand how 12.41 is not 12 but 11.45 or 10.45 is rounded to 11 or 10...?

As Quivico mentioned, we can’t comment on that run because you deleted it.

oh i actually just edited the description didnt know it was deleted my bad, it says its pending again. Did not realize that when you edit the description it pends again.

Ok, my mistake. Yes, when you edit a run it needs to be reviewed again, otherwise you could just change the time to first place or something like that.

Thanks for the help but would a 12.41 run make it to 12 seconds or am i tripping when it was verified for 13 seconds?

United States

It depends on the moderation, but if I verified it, I would make it 12 seconds. It shouldn't round up.

United States

okay cause flimsy verified mine and rounded it up so was just checking. Also are there rules against like copying other people run ideas? Such as paths or ways they sped up time or is it free game?

United States

Modern speedrunning is all about collaboration; if you see someone else knowing a way to save time, go for it.

Just a small correction - if two runners submit the same time of a run in the same day, they are not sorted by alphabetical order, but by their user IDs. Which means, the older account shows first in the list.
