I don't know if this is helpful, but here we are

Hello everyone, although I don't have a video to attach as I was just practicing and not recording time, I stumbled upon something that I thought was unusual but didn't think would be all that helpful. When attempting an any% run, going between the Owa Daim shrine and Keh Namut shrines, i miserably failed a stasis launch. Going in basically the entirely wrong direction. Letting it play out to practice fall damage cancel, i soared over the edge of the plateau and, to my surprise, was not granted the warp to the plateau. Instead, i ran out of stamina and fell graciously into the water below and, for a brief moment, was off the plateau without the glider. I have only gotten it once in my many times trying to replicate it. I was wondering maybe this could be of help?

hi wild cat! I've had this happen before as well. I think even AustinJohnPlays made a video about it. But you can stasis launch (and BTB) your way off of the Great Plateau. But you if venture out far enough, you will get die and get warped back to outside the shrine of resurrection!

So, I'm wondering if there may be a save/ shrine manip that could trick the game. I don't know, i literally joined the community because i found this. I watched a video and they said "sadly we can't skip plateau" and wanted to make sure that people knew it was possible

yeah as of right now it is not possible, you can skip the shrines on the plateau and even the shiekah slate itself, but it takes a ton of time to set up and is unviable for a speedrun. I believe doing that also invalidates your run since you are using glitches in other save files to perform the skeikah slate skip./gp shrines skip. So Plateau is here to stay for right now!

I’ve been theorizing for a while about what happens if you BTB straight into the sanctum from GP without the paraglider. I’m pretty sure it isn’t possible, but if it were possible, you could skip quite a lot. In theory.

Keep in mind guys that this is not a barrier but a "coordinate check" that checks if you have the paraglider at every frame. So any btb ideas just becomes obsolete as it would void you out even in the air

The game doesn't void you out in dungeons and if you found a path and a btb that would get you to the castle it's possible but it's not likely because as @LouLouCore said the game does a coordinate check and even in the air the game would still void you out, so it's not likey that you can btb to the castle. Maybe making the game lag a bit to get there but idk.

Frame-perfect pausing might be an idea for TAS-ing, but how in the heck is that ever going to be humanly-viable?

India

It might if you're excellent in button-mashing. Then again, I'm kinda new to this speedrunning thing.

India

That's cool and all, but if you're doing this glitch for all shrines, then you will need a lot of campfires. now there are 2 options. find a glitch for infinite campfires, or re-route the entire speedrun.

India

Ok, can you explain it in detail then, I'm kinda new. (No rush)

India

ok, so using that, we can break some barrier that you were talking about?

India

wait, what if it has to do with the speed and the camera angle?

It doesn’t matter; it’s not gonna happen The coordinate check literally voids link out If he is past a certain radius Frame perfect pausing??? Why would that have an effect (no offense) This has been known about for a long time, and the only thing it’s used for is the Rake in Lake speedrun

I wonder how the game keeps track of whether link is in a dungeon.
