just a couple of speedrun quesions

hi guys im new to running this game and was wondering about a couple of things as i will be running this game on console specifically the xbox one is the timer needed to be on screen as if this is the case i will have trouble with this as my current pc is well garbage however if allowed i can upload the splits.io link with a submission of a run the only other point of concern to me is regarding the aiming system as i looked in the rules and couldn't find any confirmation is full auto aim allowed in this game or is it only to be set to assisted aim-partial or whatever its listed as ? my apologies if this is a long paragraph i just don't want any errors on my side before i submit a run

you can use auto aim. (examples of auto aims: Dates and M_tt) and I don't think there will be any problems if you will upload the splits file with the run submission

ok thats good to know i appreciate the quick response

A splits file can be altered after the fact to change your times. A video with a timer on screen is preferred. Honestly, we could probably make an exception as long as it is just for when you are starting out. If you get to get point where your times are less believable we would probably have to start requiring splits on screen.

Auto aim does not give you an advantage over other runners and, even if it did, PC players can use controllers.

ah this is an issue i cant use obs because with my pc which is total trash i either get excessive lag and or sound issues such as stuttering double sound even if i stream it i cant get the timer on screen without dealing with unbearable lag this an issue for me on console until i can afford to upgrade my pc what would you recommend ?

Splits or timer on screen should never be a requirement. The length of the video is a proof of time.

Yeah if he is submitting a video you can time it manually if you have to, editing a split file would be one of the dumbest ways you could go about cheating. Simply pausing the timer or editing the video makes way more sense. Timer on the video does very little, but it is nice to have.

Just submit the videos of your completed runs StreakOfChaos. Submitting your splits as well would be beneficial but it wouldn't clear the run of possible alterations. Your run is unlikely to suffer a great deal of scrutiny unless the time is unrealistic. The timer/splits simply makes editing/splicing harder and make alterations easier to catch by making it more likely for irregularities to show. This is unlikely to become relevant for you.

As long as you have splits to work with (both as a guide and to know how well you are doing), there is no reason you couldn't start the longer categories if you felt up to it. Most people do start with trevor% but try not to burn yourself out on the category :P.

If you need any tips or advice feel free to message me. There is a rough trevor% tutorial I made here aswell:
