Any good games for new speed runners? Im mainly looking for something short, about 30 minutes to an Hour and a Half. I own a Mac, PS4, Gamecube, Wii, N64, and PS3, although I only know how to stream/record on my PS4 and Mac. Any recommendations?

specific genre? if not, try running games that you like(d) playing casually, that's pretty much how i've got into speedrunning

It is hard to recommend games if we do not know what you like and/or have.

I recommend the N64 games, they are mostly of the time short (1 hour range) and easy to pick up, hard to master. Ocarina of Time and Super Mario 64 has a big community. But smaller games like Pokemon Snap, Diddy Kong Racing, Mario Kart 64 are a lot of fun too.

Thanks for all the advice, I think ill try to find games I've already played that I can speed run. The only problem is that I don't have many single player games, and the games I do have that I can speed run usually are really long, and I don't think I could do a Speedrun that takes more then about 3 hours atm. Also sorry for not giving more information on the types of games I like, I often play games like Infamous Second Son, Overwatch, I also played Pokemon and Zelda allot as a kid so thats something I could run (Although idk how to record on a Wii and on a 3DS without it looking terrible).

I’m running iOS games, using the screen capture thing that comes with the phone. Screencast-O-Matic would work on PC (free version has a 15min cap). As was mentioned above, a clear video from a camera works.

If you like Second Son but the length is a turnoff (fair, as even WR is nearly 3 hours), how about inFAMOUS First Light? I ran the game at AGDQ this year so it's definitely got a soft spot in my heart. But it's super well-suited to speedrunning (Fetch's main superpower is, after all, blinding speed), I'd say more so than Second Son.

I can only recommend games based on what games you have listed that you played and the lowest the WR for those games are to gauge how fast a speedrun of those games would be also i will try to list games that are sub 3 hours and you can also play on the PC without having to use emulators

1. Lighting Returns: Final Fantasy XIII the WR for any% normal is 2h 05m 05s for any% easy it is 1h 59m 30s and for NG+ Hard it is 1h 34m 49s
2. Final Fantasy XIII-2 the WR is 2h 40m 33s yet still sub 3 hours
3. Final Fantasy X-2 the WR is 2h 35m 10s i will not include FFX as that game is still over 7h long
4. InFAMOUS: Second Son the WR is 2h 47m 25s
5. InFAMOUS First Light the WR is 1h 14m 53s
6. Metroid: Other M the WR for any% is 2h 17min 03s for Hard Mode 2h 01min 05s for 100% 3h 01min 33s NOTE: You can only unlock Hard mode by 100%ing the game additional note this is a good action game and the best parts said by many would have to be the Bosses. Oh and one last thing you can only skip the cutscenes after you first beat the game then on any file after that you would be able to skip the cutscenes as it is tracked on a game level not a save file level. Also the cutscenes adds a extra 2hours and you get one shot by just about everything in Hard mode so pretty much Dark souls.
