Cleaning up the board

Hi Guilty Gear Advance Speedrunners.

I want to clean up this board a bit. This would include several things. I am including my reasons as well. I will message runners who have an active

1.Finding a way to make all the characters appear on the front page.

It would be nice to clean up the board so you don't have to click MISC to change to another character. Instead you can click on the name. This is done in some other fighting game speedrun boards.

  1. Deleting Easy, Hard, and Very Hard Categories.

This game is known for having no change in computer behavior from one difficulty to the next. The run doesn't change, the difficulty does change, and AI players still take hits to the face because for some reason they stand still and don't block at most times.

I don't want to take away other runners records (including my own) but I realized it is repetitive.

What does everyone who is active think?

I personally like it the way it is but its your call

I personally think the one hit kills from the beginning of the match are much more boring than actually fighting out the whole match and showing your moves and skills with combos

Unfortunately with most characters that is the fastest way. Even on the hardest mode. I think in other guilty gear games it is much harder to attempt that strategy, I know for a fact it is near impossible to try instant kills on the hardest modes in other games in the series. In the end it is a mechanic built into the game, I agree it is boring sometimes.

May, Baiken, Faust, Potemkin, Jam, and Dizzy Are all characters who have to use a different strategy besides instant kill. There might even be a few other characters.

While I do think the boards need to be cleaned up a bit, I'm personally in favor of keeping each difficulty seperate. Finding a way to make each character appear on the front page would definitely be nice though.

Also a category for maybe an all character run?

I've thought about this kind of category, but I've never got around to adding it. A full game run would be neat, but I'm not sure how to go about the semantics of the run. The category would probably allow any difficulty. It would start when you pick you first character then end after win pops up on dizzy on your last character.

Some of my hold ups though are things like deciding if characters like dizzy and testament should be included. Since they arnt on the starting roster. I lean towards yes but I have no prior knowledge of other fighting games, so I'm not sure how to go about it.

I'd definetly be interested to hear dbcade's input on this topic though, as he is more versed in fighting game runs than I am.

Sounds good maybe just the main characters?

We have a category just like this in bushido blade check it out

So my thoughts are this; deleting easy and normal. They are categories that change nothing. I would be happy to leave Hardest mode since this would show the point That has been discovered about this game.

Full run sounds fine. It can be all characters on hardest or normal difficulty (again its the same) dizzy and testament would be unlocked during this run as well. I will work on it late night after my stream. I figured out how to fix some stuff as well for the board.

I would be down to remove the easy and hard boards. We could turn the normal boards into either an any difficulties board or leave it as normal. I would like to keep very hard as a board though. In favor of making the boards look more clean though, I would be ok with removing easy and hard, as they do not really add anything to the boards.
