Wii remote troubleshooting

I have been having issues with my wiimote and nunchuck on my runs where somedays it responds perfectly and other days it starts to do its own thing whether its jumping on its own or drifting in random directions i have purchased a new remote and nunchuck which worked perfect for about a week now and just recently started acting up again. Any suggestions on what it might be or if anyone is having similar issues and how to resolve them without buying anew remote every other month?

ok so after looking further into this i have now replaced my sensor bar with a wireless one i got from the gamestop and it still had not fixed the issue i reset my Wii all together and downloaded the games again still had an issue with the Wiimote and nunchuck either auto walking and jumping or just not responding... Do you think the batteries in them could be shaking themselves loose and just losing a quick disconnect then reconnecting cutting off commands through the controller if so how would I fix this and make sure my batteries stay connected with a constant need to be shaking the controllers to keep my rolls going?

Sorry, i was on a marathon the last days, so i didnt check the forums. I just saw the post.

So normally the Sensor bar is not used at all in the run. The WiiMote itself has devices in it to detect movement.

The problem you describe sounds alot like a false neutral zone on the analogue stick: When you start the game before plugging in the nunchuck to the Wiimote it can appear that what the WiiMote registers as "neutral Position" of the analogue stick in fact is not the actual neutral position. I had one run where this spot was slightly to the right of the actual neutral position, so when the analogue stick was in the actual neutral position, the WiiMote registered a slight movement to the left. As far as i can tell this mostly occurs by plugging in the Nunchuck to the WiiMote when the game is already loaded and then starting to play immediately. If it is this error for you, you can easily fix it by resetting the game via Wii Menu.

Let me know if that helps ;)

i'll give it a try i also thought that with the constant shaking it might be rattling the batteries of the connection posts because i have had the wiimote just turn off mid run but the batteries be fully charged. any suggestion for keeping them still without having to hold the wiimote with a death clench. also i got to check out the marathon but didnt get to see the DK run very awesome man.

My DKCR run in the marathon sucked pretty hard since i had some issues with input delay, no need to watch it ;)

So far i had no issues with the batteries getting off the contacts, the wiiMote never turned off for me... so i can't really tell how to fix that.
