Series request about to hit two weeks pending

I know this is generally bad practice to do, but I wanted to inquire about my series request. I submitted it on the 13th (it is now the 26th my time) and have been checking it multiple times a day to see if it would get accepted. In the recent wave of games being added, I anticipated mine to finally get through but it didn't. I've waited until about 2 weeks have passes, so I think I have enough of a reason to ask about it.

Actually its been 13 days, some of the games just fall further back compared to others but the two week mark is more of a deadline we tend to aim for but that isn't always the case. There's always a bunch of other varying factors between games, I can't speak for yours since I haven't looked at it yet other than the date of your submission just now. Everyone tends to do things a little differently from one another but at the end it all gets taken care of.

I've slowly been getting to them myself, people tend to resubmit as soon as they get rejected and clogs the queue backup again. Just be patient, we'll get to it.

I'm more concerned at this point why you chose to submit a series for a pack of what appear to be 7 (?) games, none of which appear to be on the site currently, and that there doesn't appear to be any footage linked concerning these other 6 games.

I know it's been 13 days, notice how I always said about. And I have been patient. I just hope now you guys will actually deal with it now since I brought attention to it ii.

Edit: Liv and I made a post at the same time. I can get more footage if necessary? How many games should I get footage for, I assume all of them

Wait, when you submit a series the games have to already be on the site?

No, you don't sound very patient and just because you made a forum post does not speed up the process. You are not the only one in the queue, but we are going to get to it just within the hour alone I have gone through 25 games and still counting. Relax.

As for your question, yes you should be submitting for at least most of those games in question instead of just the one. It's better to get one game in the submission first then getting runs/footage of the others then requesting a series afterwards if it warrants it.

Every single time someone asks this the answer is always "we know, we're getting to it". Not really sure what you were expecting to happen here.

The games don't necessarily have to all be on the site for a series to be requested, but what sense does it make to request a series for a set of games in which 0 are currently listed on the site, there are 7 games in this series, and there's only footage provided for a single game? Just common sense.

edit: We're trying to actively prevent 'sniping' leaderboards, which has been a complaint on the site pretty much since day 1. It says in the rules a run by you is required. If you're going to be able to also add 6 other games that don't currently exist on the site freely to this series after it is made, it only makes sense that a run is provided for each game, done by you.

Okay, I'll do some more runs (longer as well) on the first two games and submit those as standalone games soon (I'll get around to the rest later as well). Once I do that (and they hopefully get accepted), I'll move onto the other ones - after all 7 have been submitted/accepted, then I submit for a series?

Also, trying not to be immature, but I'd appreciate it if you guys weren't so hostile (I waited the two weeks it said it might take you guys to get around to it, once it appeared nothing was being done I thought I'd mention it. Should I just DM someone next time instead of a forum post?)

Edit: To add on to the last sentence, how long should I wait if two weeks is too early

You think everyone is hostile the second they criticize you. They’re not hostile, you’re just behaving in a way that warrants criticism. Also, this statement
And I have been patient. I just hope now you guys will actually deal with it now since I brought attention to it.
was selfish and irritating. Just because you make a forum post doesn’t mean your request suddenly deserves higher priority. That’s probably why the mods got a bit irritated in their responses to you. And to answer your question, no, you shouldn’t DM someone right at the 2 week mark.

There were several threads the last week or so where the content mods made it clear they had a huge backlog of games to sort through so it was obvious it was going to take time to get through everything. The 2 week point is also not a hard guarantee, it’s just an estimate. Sometimes it’ll take a bit longer, sometimes much sooner. Messaging someone exactly at the two week mark will probably be more annoying than anything. If it goes well beyond that, then maybe you can drop a message to someone (but I’d let a content mod speak to that).

Not having these arguments again. I don't want to waste time arguing for no reason (it'll go nowhere). Anyways, I still do have a few more follow up questions. If the backlog is too big for the moderators to handle, will they consider getting more people to help loosen the load? Unless this is a one time thing, but it couldn't hurt I assume. And I didn't expect higher priority, I assumed that maybe my submission was getting neglected (since I had seen a bunch of other people's things going through earlier) like it somehow 'fell through the cracks'.

Also, I've submitted Uphill Rush 2 as a standalone game with plenty more gameplay than the previous submission. I'll wait 3 weeks this time before DMing someone? Not to make a big deal out of it or anything. Hopefully this time there are no problems.

Not going on repeat again, you can view literally any thread similar to this one with those questions.

We will get to it eventually, until then chill and do some speedruns.

I would imagine so, although decisions to appoint new content moderators would likely be based on trends (i.e. the average number of game submissions increases significantly) rather than one or two instances of going slightly over the soft deadline.

As far as I know this has never happened (at least not in the time that I've been on the site). Have some faith in the site staff. If it's been like 3+ weeks then maybe there's a problem (at which point I'd ask "can someone double-check that my game submission is in the queue and didn't get dropped or something" rather than "why hasn't my game been accepted yet"), but considering you started this thread while it was still under the soft deadline I don't really think this concern was warranted at all.

I've also already mentioned that the queue quickly easily gets clogged with people who feel they need to resubmit literally right away, this happens all the time. Think about this; you went through 20 games that took you maybe an hour, you take a break and come back in the afternoon, suddenly those 20 games are back. Sounds a bit extreme, this isn't always the case but its a bit more annoying during the weekends but because of this it can push other submissions back a bit further.

We don't do everything in one sitting, that would be insanity. Nothing gets lost in the queue, it just takes awhile for us to get through them due to a lot of factors such as the game themselves to the information provided and of course what everyone on staff is doing as well. People always seem to think "I bet if I was on staff I could power through everything in like 5 mins lol hahaha! It's just looking at vedo gamz ezpz!" that isn't how it works and never will. We just do what we can at a time and come back later to resume afterwards.

At the end of it all, we ALWAYS get things done. There is no room to complain, ever work at your job where you have to wait every two weeks to get a paycheck? Does that wait time bother you even though that is how that system generally works? Maybe this isn't the greatest example but it's similar enough. Just be patient and resume what you do best, which is speedrunning we don't disappoint and everyone who comes to this site regularly knows this.
