serious question for all people who moderate games and verify runs

SRC does not have the capacity to upload your runs to. This site holds no actual videos, only links to videos.

would you accept a speedrun where there is no in game audio and said in game audio is covered up by some weird elevator music Absolutely not Chances are decently high that it's either spliced or was played at a speed below normal and sped back up in editing, the latter being entirely trivial to do in most PC games, emulators and even in quite a few cases consoles via AR / Gameshark codes. I can assure you being able to play the game at half or quarter speed is definitely an insane advantage, and if there's no audio camouflaging the fact that you did it is very easy, though it's not impossible to detect as was shown by the recent Trackmania cheating scandal. An accurate ingame timer or replays definitely will not help against that specific kind of cheating unless the game desyncs or behaves weirdly while slowed down.

@Brakshow But if I shoot with my phone and link the video to SRC there will be nothing to download?

United States

Let's start again from the beginning.

First, you have to create a video, usually with your computer, camera, or phone. This video is stored on your device.

You then must upload your video to the internet by using a site like YouTube, Vimeo, etc. These sites have their own servers which store your video, and a web link which you can use to see the video.

Then, you submit your run to SRC. SRC's servers only carry data such as the video link, time, description, and similar. SRC does not store the videos themselves, only the links to the videos on YouTube, Vimeo, etc.

So if I understood correctly, I must put the video on the internet? Sorry this is the first time I'm about to publish a run so I'm completely lost.

European Union

Yes, you need to publish your video somewhere. The specific platform does not really matter, YouTube is the most popular but you could even use your own server if you wanted.

So I put the video on Youtube and then I put the link of the video on speedrun.com?

United States

Yep, just include it in your run submission.

Sorry, that's not what I meant. I haven't done a run yet, I will be doing one in 2 weeks but thanks for your help.

How do I put the 2 videos when submitting the race?

European Union

You put them both in the video link box seperated by spaces

OK and thank you again. Sorry, I really don't know anything about how this site works.
