so im a massave fan of resident evil 2 (bio2) and was wondering what is the most basic and easiest way to set up and use a livesplit timer. any help in this regard would be awsome because ive been running this game forever and only just discovered speedrun.com and am so happy to finally of found a community that totatly gets me :D. ive been running the sorcenext version on pc running with a basic logictech game pad and installed it using the guide on this site. can someone please help me with installing a livesplit program so i can view my ingame time on screen? also what program do you guys prefer me record my attempts in? :D thanks alot to anyone that can help me on this!
Im having issues with finding the script, ive downloaded the file and opened in notepad but the script is just all mumble/jumbled up so i haven't actually been able to set it up to do the splitting for me, i can configure the timer and splits but with no script it doesn't exactly work for me, i know that the file has to be opened in notepad but this is all im getting.
The program i was using to extract it wasnt working. I had to download winraw. Ill give it a crack later on tonight ☺
I HAVE HAD SUCCESS :D finally got the thing working, ive never been so happy in my life before xD. thanks alot for all the help everyone, now to test it out with a run or 2, depending on how they go and if the program is splitting correctly i should have a video up in a couple of weeks :D
Another quick question if you guys are still there lol, how do i set up the world record time to my live split? ive put it in the live split program but i dont know how to link it to the time.
Add the WR splits as a comparison in "Edit Splits"
Then go to Layout settings -> Splits. Scroll down and you should find the +/- part. Check the box for showing colum for it, change the name to WR. Set it to compare against WR, game time and finally set both the WR and your PB to "Delta or Splittime".
Think I got it all, at work and I'm on my phone.
It will look like this: The splits under "2nd" was Jikkachan's splits who was 1 second ahead of me.
ok guys my livesplit will not start on its own and neither will Dchaps SRT nothing is working what could be causing this ?
try to run Live split as administrator and also make sure SRT is in the same compatibility mode as the game. also run SRT as admin
nope it didnt work for srt either and if i launch the game as admin it comes up with "failed to initialise directx (R)" i tried Dchaps fix but it didnt work
are you using 1.0 version of the game? (base version when you install it) or the 1.1 patch
if you go to start menu and type in " User account control" you should see this
make sure the bar is set to the bottom and hopefully the SRT will work, then assuming you have 1.0 that is
i presume it is 1.0 I will give this a try hopefully it will work and have no negative effect
nope that just made things worse what is this directx (R) im sure that i whats stopping it working
