MMSF-3 - why no boss leaderboards?

I'm interested in speedrunning bosses rather than the full game. just curious why there's no leaderboard for each boss (R level maybe)

There are no leaderboards for particular bosses because it would simply boil down to getting the perfect draw turn 1, and just deleting the boss instantly. If you got off IGT, the times would all be super similar (should be less than 10s). If you do real time to include menuing times, they would still be sub 30s runs, which would result in times all being super comparable. Overall, there's very little to separate one run from another for boss fights, so leaderboards are particularly necessary.

Yea but isn't that the point of speed runs? there are tons of games where there are milliseconds between runs. I don't know, I feel like a lot of people can't commit to running a 2+hour long game and this would allow more people to do/play MMSF.

Having runs that are highly competitive is fine (being within milliseconds). The problem here is that there is very little actual skill separation between boss kills. It basically boils down to "did you get the right draw?" If you are using IGT to determine the final time, the skill involved can often just be pressing A to get a time stop card off. Using RTA is a bit more interesting, since it involves menuing speeds, getting proper counter hits potentially, and time stop cards become worse, but it's still not particularly difficult to pull off the best strat for a boss if you get the appropriate draw.

There is nothing wrong with trying to get a really low record for a boss kill, but when it comes to making a leaderboard for it, I don't think it would be a particularly interesting leaderboard to look at. We haven't really seen a lot of interest specifically for boss leaderboards either. However, if there were a greater number of people in the community who truly wanted to have such a leaderboard and would attempt runs, there wouldn't be any problem doing so. There's pretty much no point in setting up leaderboards if the people in the community aren't that interested in it.

While it is unfortunate that 2 hour+ long runs are difficult to commit to, the non-existence of a leaderboard shouldn't prevent people from enjoying these games however they want.
