I personally don't think this track is good enough to be included. It is a nice remake of the original track for sure and I don't think it's really possible to remake this track better; but in my opinion it's way too boring, too short and probably also not challenging enough.

Not sure if this is what Fabian meant, but just to be clear, it should be noted that this add-on is not a remake of the Racetrack already in the mod, but rather a remake of an older track with the same name.

I know it's a remake of "Flat track"

The track has nice modern and polished (unlike Mod Circuit) graphics and is a (remake of a) former Official Stk Track, but that is the only positive I can say about this track.

I find it way too simple personally, and being that short is aggravating this issue (if you look at Beam Runner's or Origami Animosity's Minimaps, you might think that these tracks are too simple too, yet they are pretty nice to run Imo)... Also when I race the other tracks with Sub 20 s Laps, Secret Garden and Bovine Barnyard, I feel that they are much better. And like Mars Park I feel that there should be more stuff in the background. Also we already have 2 "Race Track" themed tracks, even though they are not the best personally (but Imo Racetrack Remake is the worst of the 3)... There should be a track that merge the positive of these 3 tracks and Las Dunas Lol...

So I have to reject this proposition, sorry.

Allow me to state that Sony no longer has shish to do with ModNation or UFG, the company went bankrupt and they had removed the game from PS Store after the announcement of the servers shutdown. As wax shows, i've stated on the license that this track is a recreation.

The track is still going under improvement of visuals as well

Just because the company is dead does not mean that one can use freely what they produced... A "recreation" is a derivative work and will not escape to the need of a formal permission... So in theory there could be copyright claims, unless the Stk Team got formal permission from the creator(s)... In practice of course I doubt that anyone will annoy us, but I would also like to have only free stuff in Stk Addons. I would also like to have only "pure Stk" tracks here.

So I am adding the explicit rule that only original tracks can be added to Stk Addons, either from old versions of Stk, or created from scratch. So no imports from other games, nor tracks inspired from other games' tracks, even if the assets are free. For this reason I change my decision about Mod Circuit and remove it from Stk Addons. Additionally, all material (textures, music...) must be free. I am aware that there might be a few things Cc Non Commercial, this can be accepted for now, but I will try to replace them until Addons 2.

Volcano Remake is a great new addon, also Mars Park has gone through some updates, might want to consider it again

Still not much convinced by Mars Park, it did go to the good direction and I can include it, but I am sure that Mimiz could be much more creative and propose something even better.

Volcano Remake is however an excellent track and I would gladly include it. Though, there are several issues:

• I feel that there is something wrong with the smoke, it just looks like some weird moving textured polygons. This should be improved;
• There is a large skip, see this video: https://videos.supertuxkart.net/videos/watch/69a74394-29d0-4065-abe8-3227de52c161 ;
• There is this bug in Reverse: https://videos.supertuxkart.net/videos/watch/91c58ab8-945d-434d-8de1-606f0145d6ec (I did the videos with Stk 1.2-Git, but they also apply to Stk Addons 1 which is based on 1.0) (If you have trouble playing the videos, download them and play them directly with Vlc or something like that)

I could include both tracks right now, but I remind that once they are in the Mod, they will be frozen so no update can be applied until Addons 2 (well if it is purely graphical like changing the smoke or adding more stuff to the background, I could still consider that). If there are plans to fix the issues above or to make any other sort of updates soon, it will probably better to wait for these updates. Just let me know.

Sorry, I don't like Mesa Party, I find it boring and the section with the moving obstacles is really annoying.

I love the Volcano Remake. It's my favorite addon of 2020, but it still has a few teething problems. Basketballs currently don't work properly. They get stuck at the start/finish line and jump on a spot without moving forward. Typhon did a driveline hack to improve respawning positions in reverse, which caused this issue. I don't think the track is good for reverse anyways. I think Typhon should do:

1. Disable reverse direction. This would also fix the respawn issues and the basketball problem.
2. Upon wax request, Typhon redesigned the section near the summit to be more difficult. In my opinion, the broken/uneven road right before the 3 bananas is now too challenging. I drive there really fast (zipper pad, red skid and nitro) so that any bump causes my kart to fly into the bananas or even off the road. I think the road should smoother (at least a section in the middle) so that this part of the track is less random.

Typhon generally listens to feedback and if several players agree on this, it's not unlikely that he will fix it.

Jk, I agree the road should be smoother because it looks buggy, though it's possible to do this part at high speed without slowdown if I remember well.
