Currently only the top tabs get links so it's impossible to link to any subcategories and when you copy the link it will just take you to whatever is set to default on the top tab.

It would be very nice if all subcategories would get their own unique link so it's easy to send viewers to the correct leaderboard of the category I'm running.

imo it's a bad idea, this thing will add more chars to the link (like https://speedrun.com/gamename#Category1#Subcategory1) and more long if the category has multiple variables set to "Subcategory"

Surely it's possible to generate a separate shortlink then at least that you can share. Also it doesn't even direct to the proper leaderboard when clicking on the run through the profile.

Take a look at the Diablo II: Lord of Destruction categories for example. There must be like 100 categories there, but only 3 main categories so all you get is 3 links. It's really difficult to direct the viewer to the proper category (for some reason) and it creates a lot of confusion with the times. It would be much better if the link would send to the proper category right from the beginning, but instead the user has to navigate to the correct category themselves.

It would be so much more comfortable to be able to have a link directly to the leaderboard, because right now every time I share the link I have to give long directions how to reach the leaderboard as well through the link.

it looks like it'd be a bit trickier with how the site currently works (it seems to load in leaderboards as needed, instead of when the site is initially loaded), so that'd either need to be done differently or a little script would need to be written to it automatically switches to the correct tab as soon as possible. It's a good idea tho, I've had my fair share of problems with values (the subcategory tabs) in the past, especially with Diablo 3.

@R0main what is wrong with longer links when no working links exist currently?

As a [Mario Sports Mix](https://www.speedrun.com/msm) speedrunner, I don't see a big problem here, just put "2on2, Normal, Behemoth, 1P" somewhere on screen and it should be more than enough for viewers to find the right category. Your game has less subcategories so it should be even easier.
And sure, URLs for it would be super useful either way.

How is it not a problem? Imagine I send you a wiki link to Potatoes, but instead you first get a page of Mushrooms with a button that takes you to Potatoes. It's annoying and pointless.
