Deep in the Windy Valley: Clear in 1m 05s by Razinuh - 1st place is very suspicious

Would it even matter if he clipped 30 second clip runs? He still has to get the IGT of 1:05 and I don’t see any part of the level where Luigi Assist could be used to cheat a faster time.

Interesting topic; I for one, don't know where you can possibly save time on that course. I bet you maybe could at the beginning, but not that much time. Honestly, I don't know why Razinuh would cheat this especially since it's an IL, so I'm gonna say he didn't cheat.

You'd have to have a perfect pipe entry tho...

My guess is that the timer got edited to look like a 434, which would explain why it curiously moved at the end of the video.

But again, the person in question removed the video. I mean, how can somebody be insulted of being accused of cheating at the same time as removing the piece of evidence?

I unfortunately don't have a recording setup anymore but I will try to get one within the next week.

To be honest with you guys, maybe 434 on this level is not even possible in the first place. Can people try to get 434? I would like to see if one soul could get 434.

that was the level in question? full automatic with 2 just right run that can be done in perfect time that easy? in a random il like that seriously you guys get that upset with that? that if you get a good gampleay of it like him there is no even point for cheating it, and it wouldn´t be the end of the world lol anyways, nice

Hello, I'm not gonna take any side in this conflict, but i think i can at least provide some facts to make it easier to come to a conclusion:

First. Wak's Claim, that the timer runs further even after you have hit the goal tape is true. This can be seen in a submitted leaderboard run as well: https://www.speedrun.com/smm2/run/z09vdk4z To check this you can use the . and , keys to move forward or backwards a frame in the youtube player. I believe that the timer stops on the frame where the coins from getting the goal are added to the coin count. I don't have proof of this, but the run shows that the timer can still move 1 frame before that, so basically the timer stops either when i suspect it does, or later.

Second. This is about someone not seeing any way to save time with luigi assist. There are plenty, actually: One way would be to just give yourself a star at the start of the level and then to reach the pipe faster. Another would be to place blocks in the subworld to clip through the platform, as seen in this run: https://www.speedrun.com/smm2/run/zpr5x3xm

Third. Just my own run for some reference. While most of the submitted leaderboard runs have an obvious timeloss, this one, at least in my eyes, doesn't appear to lose very much time so it may be useful to someone. It is 1 frame off of a 1:05, i'm pretty sure: However, when comparing different runs of this level, you definitley have to keep one thing in mind: The pipe entries can take differently long from run to run. This is because, if you enter the pipe in the center, then the timer will instantly pause and you will instantly go down after pressing down. But if you are a bit left or right of the center and hold down, then the timer will also be instantly paused, however, before moving down, you will be moved right or left to the center first - the timer does not count up during this - and then move down, resulting in a longer animation. Another thing about my run: The small spin jump i do at the start is really supposed to save time. If you get the timing right, then it can save a frame, however it doesn't always. It's a strat that was used in basically every SMW ninji speedrun (it's SMW only). I am not 100% certain whether i got the timesave in this run, but i do believe so, since i could only get 2 frames off in the runs where i didn't attempt it. Here is a video that proves that you can save a frame with the spin jump: Thanks for reading all this, i hope this was useful

EDIT: Got a run 1 Frame off now

the spin jump at the beggining only makes you loose a frame or less. Spin jump usually are performed when you have to jump before hitting full speed. when you have rnough ground to sprint, you don't do spin jumps. for example: in the 5th speedrun () he does a spin jump because he can't get full speed bedore having to jump to avoid that slopes. thats why he spins. in this case, i think you can get full speed, before jumping.

in the time somebody reads with attention this whole conflict he can get this record at least 3 times lol

Portugal

I already got the record 3 times but @IamUncleSlam keeps rejecting my runs idk why, and he doesn't even explain. clean runs.

@Qwerty73 does that happen in all of the world themed levels? weird how most of mario world themed levels wr don't start with that spin jump, and i even tested it and it doesn't help me at all

Basque Country

@Qwerty73 actualy how is 1.341 the wr of that level lol

I was able to do more attempts today to reach a 434, still no success. It's quite curious, there is literally nothing to the level where I can possibly lose time.

At the top of it, the person in question seems to have very basic knowledge over not only the game and how to be fast at it, but also how the timer works in the game, and how you can measure a second "without having a timer".

I'll be fair here, as a top ninji player (it was not hard for me to reach a top 10-20 spot during the week, or reach a final rank in the top 20, even got top 2 during Rolling Snowball) there aren't that many souls out there outrunning me in this game, let alone this guy up there. BUT, just to be sure, I contacted KingBoo, many times ninji champion, which is easily a top 3 best speedrunner and arguably the best speedrunner in the game. I asked him to get a 434 on the level, we'll see how it goes. If kingboo can't get a 434, I assure you guys that nobody can.

And I would like to remind everyone that apparently, this guy up there was able to get a 434 as small mario, which is even more unbelievable as it's a frame slower.

Also, Razinuh, could you do another high quality video of a 434 please? Doesn't have to be the one you put down, can be another. Needs the whole video up to when Mario is back in front of the princess peach castle.

Thank you.
