Seeded Slay The Spire Speedruns

I have been speeruning Slay the Spire (unofficial 12 minutes IGT). And it's really fun to have to make decisions on the fly, but it would also be very interesting to push the time as low as it can go, which would be much more rigorous with the ability to know the exact contents of the map. I have found a way to achieve this (probably one of many):

Start a run with ironclad (I did this with a fixed bosses folder), press talk, select one of the options and quickly Alt+f4.

You can then create a backup copy of the SlayTheSpire folder, continue the run (importantly you still have to talk and choose a blessing which could be the start for RTA), if you find the routes and rng good you can restore the backup and now you know the exact layout of the map.

This doesn't work with the current rules of Any%, however a new category could be created similar to how Minecraft has seeded set seed and random seed categories.

Ruins it for this category because you can memorize a run. but thanks for sharing cool idea

@bigchief01 That why I say there should be two categories, one for people like you and another for sub 3 runs.

The devs plan to include the ability to run off of a set seed in game; until that is done we are most likely not going to have any seeded category. If we did it would most likely not be in this format either, since this isn't really "seeded" this is more "try the same route over and over till you get a good time", you still can't choose your seed.

@Phantom usually seeds don't actually give you info about the map, so testing maps until you see one that is good is the only way to find good seeds.

But if the deva are going to add seeds i'll wait.

Seeds actually do give you information on the map, they generate the whole map, the encounters, the events, the rewards, everything. You could generate the whole run and practice it in advance if you knew the seed. Currently, that isn't what the community wants.
