Hi, I'm new to speedrunning, and I usually like playing short and easy to learn to play games since I'm still doing school. Any suggestions?
Firstly welcome aboard! "Play what you enjoy playing and can grind over and over and over again without getting tired of it"- that's the stock answer your going to get from most people.
A short game is subjective, but I'll assume you mean between 15-30 minutes. That said, Kirby's Dream Land for Game Boy has a big community and is easy to pick up and learn. Another one that might be of interest to you is Super Mario Land 2 for Game Boy, it's a little bit more difficult, but still times around 30 minutes don't take too long to achieve. Any good at fighting games? Runs are usually under 10 minutes and are usually about AI manipulation and a little chance.
There's also plenty of roguelikes and strategy games that range from under a minute to around 15 to 20.
I personally have very limited time to run lately, and this is what I do.

kirby's dreamland is great also I also just picked up teenage mutant turtles 4 turtles in time for the snes that can be around 35 mins or less. Good luck to you
@polean128 I waould suggest Flash games like About Face, Mario Combat, Skullface and run 2 Because those games are easy to run and are flash games so they are available on school computers so you can practice them when you have free time at school.
