Hey all!

I have been running this game for about a month and am slowly trying to get further up the leaderboard--assuming they'll be approved! I've decided to just document things I've noticed and am including clips.

Overall this game has been fun do as my first run and I've learnt quite a bit from everyone else. I figured it would be great to have other people know what I am thinking when I play too!

The barrel you run across in Castle Goofenstein has some really weird physics when you land on it post-transition (and boy are screen height transitions annoying in this game).

If you land on it facing forward, the barrel will immediately roll back. This may be a suggestion from the game developers to turn around and face the other way, or it just may be something really weird and overlooked. Nonetheless, the way to avoid this is to turn around immediately after the screen transition.

You should face this way as soon as the screen transitions so to do this, as the screen moves downward, reverse the direction and then when you land on the barrel you'll move in the desired direction.

Oh hey! Someone else is taking on this game! Yo. I have noticed this with the barrel as well and I try (not always successfully) to pull it off in a run. I have also been trying to run this watching the previous runs for tips and tricks. the damage boost in the start of Forest is one I have yet to pull off.

I was doing a TAS a few months ago, and this idea of turning around in the middle of the transition is interesting, but I think we could jump in the middle of the path to the platform, so it would be a few more frames or 1 second faster on my Opinion.

You got a link to this TAS? I have been trying to see how to optimize this level and so far I am just at 33 seconds at this level.

Also, one weird note: if you hit jump just as the game jumps, the first cat will jump.

Additionally, throwing the block at the wrong time may cause you to clip into it when you jump on it. It has killed my run real quickly because of that.

Really? Never have had that happen before. My weakness is optimizing Crystal forest, and Suken Palace. So on another note, what do yall think is the worst level of this run? Crystal forest is my vote, hands down.

Crystal Forest's annoyance is that it's long but otherwise it's my favourite due to it being the most technical. I've got it down pretty decently to the point where I now hit reset if I make any mistakes.

If there were a way to clip through the walls you could probably remove minutes from the game.

Crystal forest is my big reset point as well, occasionally sunken ruins if I miss a jump. The run is pretty much safe after that. I usually don't bork something on illusion garden or the boss fights. I will say missing a bomb in Pete fight is annoying though!
