Seperate tabs for different consoles?

From being a part of this community for a long time, here's what I've noticed.

There used to be separations between consoles as you have mentioned (Not necessarily in different tabs, but it was definitely displayed).

They moved from that system to the current one that they have because the time differences are too big.

Worst case scenario, you can submit the time with loads only, and there's a small chance that a mod might calculate it for you. (At least that's what happened with mine, even though I posted my run before the updated system.)

This is however the most information that I know of from the top of my head. Maybe somebody could give more information.

However, I think the old method is better, as it does display who has the world record for which console, and it gives a uniqueness to each consoles fastest time ever done. And I have found it to definitely be a problem for those of us who run on things that we can't exactly record (or have a hard time recording video footage of.)

If anybody else knows something, opinions are appreciated.

Yeah this is basically what i was worried about with this approach. No one wants to calculate time without loads unless they have a WR and the calculations now are not even accurate, just somewhat close.

Any% RTA will certainly be converted in IGT Any% once a run is submitted (by me). Giving the link on the any% description I wanted to encourage people trying doing the calculation so that I don't have to do it everytime, but there isn't any problem really.

While that's nice for any%, other categories may need as you suggested a tab for each console (because no one seems to want working out other LT, Walrus did a nice thing).

Since we already know about how long each door, pipe, etc. takes on average, we could just count the number of each in the run to get a rough estimate. Also, I found a way to go through videos frame by frame at 30 fps, so I plan on retiming for a bit more accurate number.

I'm conflicted on having separate tabs. Not many people run this game, so a lot of the tabs would only have a few runs in them, and I think it's better to have it unified. Splitting runs by system can work for something more popular like MK64, but other games with a smaller community and load differences keep it as one and take out the loading times (Super Mario Bros: the Lost Levels for example).

That being said, I completely understand people not wanting to deal with loading times. Maybe on the run submission form it can have something that says you don't need to do your own loading times, but it's appreciated or something. I'm open to other ideas.

Happy the effort put into that column is somehow appreciated.

-Specific point of deaths (8T2 skip included) -Toadhouses used

Those infos are enough to make up loadless times (in any%) and if you think leaving calculations to mods would make it better to new people I'll change the run submission rules so that people just have to say deaths ecc...

Video-proof runs also don't even have to provide them

EDIT: points of death don't cover extra doors/pipes w/o death (which are very rare) and can't be verified in video-proofless runs, that might be another info required

I also have a problem with calculating times w/o loads. Although it IS completely my fault. I'm really bad with computer stuff. (I.E. I don't even know how to set up a printer on my computer) Calculating times w/o loads is sort of scary and alienating for me, as someone who has never run the game.

But I'm only one person so my problem might be pretty invalid. I honestly don't even know what I'm doing half the time :\

Changes To Video Requirements And Emulator Loading Times

Hi everyone, please read below for information regarding some important changes to video proof and emulator timing.

As of September 12th 2022, runs for all categories will require video proof to be verified on the leaderboard. Previously video proof was only required for Any% runs, however we are
