I've been routing out the game on Veteran Mode for a while now but I've been walled hard at this fight for quite a while.
I've found a pretty good strat where I chain enough hits so if it goes right all the accompanying enemies die on the second turn... however sometimes it just doesn't work, even though as far as I can tell I'm doing the exact same thing. And if the enemies don't die that turn I'm pretty much dead...

If I make it past that point it's fairly straight forward but it fails like 70% of the time in practice. Is there something about the damage system that I'm missing?
