New Idea For the Community-Made Categories Leaderboard

Now that 2 new mods have arrived, and given the fact that one of them runs a "Community-Made Leaderboard" at http://deunofficialcategories.weebly.com/ I was thinking maybe we could have the Community-Made Leaderboard slide over to this WR book.

The Full-Game Leaderboard was implemented and still 0 runs have been submitted, so I was thinking we could implement something like that and add a slot for "Community-Made Categories Leaderboard" and add all of the categories used on http://deunofficialcategories.weebly.com/ and maybe add a few more categories approved by the mods as they come up.

Most of the WRs, even warper, are now getting maxed out every day and it becomes harder and harder for new players to get WRs.

Adding the Community-Made Categories on speedrun.com would probably spark more interest and allow newer faces to show up on the leaderboard.

I don't think in a level leaderboard there is a nice way to add in miscellaneous categories and make them actually miscellaneous. You can't seperate them completely because srcom doesn't allow that and I'm pretty sure you can't make the miscellaneous categories even miscellaneous, so the only way would be to put them in as if they are main categories, which I don't think should be a thing.

EDIT: Since you said "Add a slot for "Community-Made Categories Leaderboard"", I can 100% confirm that speedrun.com does NOT have support for that.

EDIT 2: After checking I also confirmed I can't make them miscellaneous unless I switch where the map names and the categories are (which would completely wipe the leaderboard)

o rip. Although this is a good idea

I've already suggested this but it would be too messy having that many categories. I did suggest something like the misc section on the hypixel leaderboards (where any% old can be found) but it kinda still appears on the main leaderboard which would make it kind of ugly and confusing. (Credits to ButWhyMrManFTW for the idea lol)

One thing I want to do is kinda promote my website more, and I think the best way for me to do that is for me to get runs for it and upload them (lol). Another problem I have is that the wrs on my website are regarded as "cheap wrs".

Btw there haven't been 0 submissions, there were around 4 by AddMyMC and 3 runs or so by lazypika (but pika didn't submit his idk why)

Reply to Fatty: So you can't do like the Full-Game Leaderboard where it says all maps? You can't like replace that for "Leapless" or "No-Leap Disruptor" or etc? Seems a little bullshit

Replying to Tristan: When I meant "0 submissions" I meant for the All-Maps Category xd. Also if my idea is not an alternative to your website I hope that under the moderating of you and Craftain your website gains more interest because they are good entry-level WRs for people just starting out, and they also create a crap ton of new competition.

You can only do Level and Full Game on the sidebar; you can't add anything else. You also can't format the categories like in level in the full game section. Don't blame me, blame speedrun.com

They did have the idea of making subcategories (Disruptor No Leap would be a subcategory for Disruptor, for instance), with the only downsides being a confusing layout, especially with Into the Jungle and Time Travel (Imagine having Dis NE, Dis E, Dis NL NE and Dis NL E (Probably not reasonable in runs but might have to include nonetheless)). That MIGHT be going in but I think it's still being decided

There's two ways I think it could be introduced:

  1. Have miscellaneous categories

  2. Have a forum post with a list of (unofficial) leaderboards. And in the post explain how it works and give some rules. It should look like this:

1 is impossible with how I organized the leaderboards (the wrong way) unless you want to clear the leaderboards. If you mean as a subcategory that COULD work

2 might work
