are runs verified in order of submission?

I'm just wondering how runs are verified as it appears some runs are being verified the day of submission, but I have a few runs that are 4 days old that havent been looked at yet. I know it says it could take weeks and i don't really mind, but seems weird when records that are like 50th place are getting verified same day while I've been waiting to have my 2nd place run verified, I've seen a few runs submitted and verified same day since my submissions. Maybe runners who have been around longer get looked at first? and before people flame me saying posting about it isn't going to get them verified any faster, that's not what I'm trying to do.

Most moderators try to go from the bottom to top (which is by date submitted).

Some exceptions:

  • I saw the run live already, I'll jump in and check some quick things and then verify. Prevents redundancy. That's time another mod can spend watching a different run.
  • Depending on free time at the moment, I might have time for a couple of HUNK/Tofu runs, but not a Leon hardcore
  • Several of us are working on the queue at the same time. Then we'll jump around a bit to prevent overlap, communicating what run we're looking at.

We get a lot of submissions every day. With that said, we don't really have that much back log. If you've been waiting 4 days, chances are you'll be verified today or there's something being discussed about your run for some reason that's holding verification back.

Edit: Just checked, you have two runs that are two days old, and one run that is one day old... Our queue goes back the latest 4 days at this point, and almost all of those are DLC runs that we're not accepting quite yet.

The queue is based on time submitted. If you have two runs of the same category, and one beats the other, there will be a notification when we get to your older run that it's obsoleted. We then will just reject that run and go to your next run, generally speaking. Depends on mostly how far apart they are.

Ok, sorry It was after midnight when I submitted but before I went to sleep, I shouldve actually said 3 days. I had a 4 day long weekend so I'm all fucked up. Thanks for the clarification though.

No problem, you're almost at the "bottom" of the queue (ignoring the DLC runs) @MyztklKev - which means you'll probably be verified today or early into tomorrow.

@CursedToast while I have your attention, do you know why I can't delete submitted but yet to be verified runs? no one responded to me in the other thread. I just have the option to edit run which lets me remove the video link but I have no option to delete.

I'm not sure - I've never tried to delete a run of my own in a queue that I don't moderate. I see the option to delete my runs for other games, but those are already approved. Maybe it's not possible to delete your own pending runs?

hmm alright, someone in another thread eluded to the ability to do it. Maybe they were mistaken, I just figured if I deleted my obsolete runs it would make some mods job easier.

you can delete your pending runs if you go to your pending list, click on the run, then the 3 dots

yeah no, that just gives me edit run and no delete, maybe cuz I'm new? I can't even delete my now verified but already 2 times obsolete run.

It could very well likely be a thing you can only do after X amount of accepted submissions. Anyway, at this point in time, I believe all of your runs in the queue have been either verified or rejected (due to being obsolete).

yeah, I assumed so Toast, thanks.

But, submissions are all pilled together?

I mean, aren't they divided for category?

Florida, USA

No, they're piled together by submission time.

one more thing, does editing a submitted but not yet verified run with a faster run put it at the back of the line or does it keep it's spot in queue?

Indonesia

^yeah I've been asking in my own thread and didn't realize that this particular question hasn't been answered lol

I don't think editing affects your position in the queue, but I'm not 100% sure, honestly. This isn't information that we just have access to on hand, unfortunately.

Indonesia

Ah, okay. I'm just curious because I submitted a run on 02/19 and I've seen a few runs ranged from 22th to 24th got verified yesterday CMIIW

I see two runs from you in the queue. One was from two days ago, and one is from today. At least according to the "played on" dates and submission dates. Do you have a link to the run from 2/19?

@CursedToast https://www.speedrun.com/re2remake/run/y92e08kz I "queue" this submission on 2/19 and I edited this submission with a new VOD link 2 times because I keep getting new PB while waiting for the queue. For me it's still says "Submitted by kibowman on 2019-02-19" and "Played on PlayStation 4 Pro on 2019-02-26", if this is the case then I assume that editing a submission with a new run/VOD etc will push you to the back of the queue.
