None of my USB Ports Are Working

Hi there, i recently had to re install windows due to an error, after a bit of trial an error i managed to install it, but now i cant finish the final process of the install as i cant use my mouse and keyboard as none of my usb ports are working, i cant even charge my phone through them ?

this has really stumped me as i have no clue what to do,

USB ports, like many other things require drivers to work. You need to install those. You can find them by googleing your motherboard and going to their manufacturer's site. In my case there were 3 Drivers, one for the USB2.0 ports and two for the two different kinds of USB3 ports. To get them installed I used an older keyboard of mine that works with windows' standard drivers, same as the mouse I always use. For example my Corsair K70 wouldn't work (outside of the BIOS at least) until I installed both USB3 drivers.

quick edit: the person in your computerhope forum topic also mentioned the chipset drivers, which you'll also have to get from the manufacturer's site

Use the program 3DPChip which will tell you what drivers to use and provide links.
