Multiple Mario Kart Games

Could we have a '284 Tracks' category for all of the Mario Kart games? It could be a race kind of like the '602 Stars' for all the Super Mario games, where it would be an SRL race but only for Mario Kart.

  • SMK: All 20 tracks
  • MK64: All 16 tracks
  • MKSC: All 40 tracks
  • MKDD: All 16 tracks
  • MKDS: All 32 tracks
  • MKW: All 32 tracks
  • MK7: All 32 tracks
  • MK8: All 48 tracks
  • MK8D: All 48 tracks

Rules:

  • All games must be played in order
  • You must use items for all games
  • You may use skips for all games
  • You may use any character/vehicle combination
  • Time starts at the normal start time for SMK, and ends at the normal end time for MK8D
  • You may take a maximum of 1 hour in between games

I really hope this gets put into consideration, as I'm sure multiple people would join the race.

Unfortunately, recording this sounds like it would be complete hell. Up until Odyssey, I know it was possible to play every 3D Mario on the Wii in one way or another. For MK it's much more difficult, especially when it comes to handhelds.

Right now I have no way to record MKSC, MKDD, MKDS, & MK7. I could buy SC & DS on Wii U. Unfortunately I'd be worse on that platform and my current Wii doesn't have backwards compatability, so I can only play MKDD if I used Dolphin now since my cube is past its days. SMK / 64 are on my wii u's wii menu, so essentially I'd probably waste a lot of time menuing also without particular pause splits during games, but that'd be hard because then people could just try getting their PBs from each game and adding them together which wouldn't be fair. Then MK7's a whole different beast, because I'd have to get a separate 3DS cap card which right now is a waste of money unfortunately.

If this happened, a detailed ruleset would be needed I think

Something good would be to make a category with SMK, MK64, MKDD, MKW and MK8 because they can all be played in the Wii U and it wouldn't be as long and about losing between menus, we can do nothing about it. In 602 Stars people also lose time changing to SM64 and Sunshine

Well, 64 Sunshine and both Galaxies can all be done on the Wii.

Also, MKDD cant be done on the Wii U. So we'd have to choose between Wii / Wii U which we shouldnt do imo. Would just be a messy category really.

Since the capture card creator for 3ds aren't being made anymore, or not as much, i dont think these would be an easy run catagory

What the interest to do mk8 and mk8D tracks who are the sames?

My brother and I played 216 Mario Kart tracks in one day

This does not include the repeated 20 SNES tracks on MCSC or the 48 tracks from MK8 that appear identically in MK8D. I used a camera on a tripod to record the 3 handheld games.

Tunisia

Only reason I think that this won'y happen is because not many people have all mk games

It would be interesting to see, and i think it would be better to skip mk8 or mk8d, depending on what versino you want to play - and otherwise i would say all tracks should be the requirement for such a speedrun - and you could still split it to console and handheld series Edit - Emulator and VC should be allowed for those games, that allow it on the main Leaderboard

I think if this is a thing, maybe allow multiple runners, for instance take the 1545 Marathon of having one runner for some games and have the combined time be submitted, There's probably a lot of rules to be enforced for this but I feel its the most practical rather than one person doing every track considering how many consoles and capturing equipment one person will likely have
