Hey, I'm planning to run SMB3 any% in a marathon. I've never speedrun it before, though I have beaten the game casually. I have a few questions:
- Should I use the wrong warp? If so, is there an easy consistent setup I can learn?
- What time can I expect to get in the near-worst case, assuming a relatively sizeable amount of practice?
Thanks!
Have you ever successfully performed a wrong warp before?
any% no wrong warp is an easy enough category to play through. I used to play through the game with fellow non-gamers, and we had our own work record time which we traded back and forth. With maybe a months practice between all of us, we were finishing the game in between 13 and 15 minutes.
No, I've never done the wrong warp before. I was just wondering if it's a good thing to learn for something like this. Thanks for the info! I guess I should expect 15-20 minutes worst case.
I've never done the wrong warp myself, but it would appear to be a bit of a challenge to set up. For a marathon I would consider just doing a no wrong warp run, and if time permits showing off the wrong warp glitch since it only takes about 3 minutes to complete.
