no one on the moderation team or general community has tested yet. my assumption is: The Mini will be allowed, but it may have some timing rule in place similar to the MegaSG for framerate discrepancy. This of course only affects RTA-TBC.

Hello. I'm a series moderator for Sonic the Hedgehog. The analogue mega sg has just been released and we are allowing it to be used for speedruns. there is a slight problem. the analogue mega sg is not either a.) original hardware, or b.) emulation in the literal sense. We are struggling to find a place for it under current circumstances. As moderators, we would like to separate it. I would like to request either:
1.) FPGA (analogue nt, analogue mega sg) to be added as console. FPGA is the process in which these consoles work. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Field-programmable_gate_array FPGA would be a blanket console for these releases for both the nes, snes and genesis.
2.) MegaSG- this one would obviously be specific to the Genesis.

The leaderboards here may look a tad confusing for the next month or so with blank times. The moderators are in the process of adding RTA-TBC as a secondary timing method under "Real Time". This was wanted by the community, and we now have to go through and re-time most of the runs one by one. The times will continue to be sorted IGT by default. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

We have begun adding ILs for the classic sonic games this week. Its a ton to set up and organize. To be completely honest this game is rather low on the priority list, however eventually we would like to add all games where requested.
done. you both are mods. the only thing i ask is logging any changes you guys make to the game here for transparency. thankyou.
so. i have been thinking. are you guys still playing the game? my thought was to add the speed lap under IL. the potential to "hot lap" in practice with no traffic. record your best lap and thats it. this would add the other route onto the boards. thoughts?
edit: my responsibilities have expanded over in the sonic series. i was considering adding you both as mods. this way you could verify each others runs, (no self verification) and do with the IL boards as you guys see fit. the last thing i want is this game to fall in the cracks.
I removed the IL lap times leaderboard due to inactivity. When I was the only runner i wasn't sure if they would eventually be used, so they were made. Its obvious to me now that IL leaderboards are not necessary. If runners want them in the future, use this thread to request. Thanks -kp
welp. this is awesome. being 100% honest here i was going to organize a lame race with a community i'm in on v1 to get some more submissions to possibly get the lame category added. this works just as well :D

i don't see why not. let me ask to see if we can add it to the console list. the only thing is if sega does release an ages version, there may be confusion. ill get back to ya when i'm 100% certain.
reason i ask is i know there is a sonic 1 version on the switch that has a dropdash and stuff we wont be allowing. not sure if there is a sonic 2 version of that.
