Can we use Super Famicom to speedrun SMB1 (NES)? What if I download the NES ROM to my SD2SNES and then speedrun it? Is it allowed? It is basically just speedrunning SMB1 (NES) on SNES. So will it be allowed? (Note: I will download the standalone ROM of SMB1 and then speedrun it)
Anyway, my question wasn’t that if it was allowed. My main question was if I could speedrun SMB1 (NES version) on SNES. Can I?
@Apianbelle it’s allowed in this game, read the SNES category rules:
SNES Categories
Original SNES or Super Famicom Original SNES or Super Famicom with Super Everdrive or SD2SNES Wii All-Stars Rerelease Snes9x or Bizhawk Frontends used in conjunction with these emulators that can alter the performance (ex. RetroArch) are not permitted
@Apianbelle Flash carts are allowed for runs if you are using the original ROM to play the particular game… Many people play on flash carts for example Kosmic (PowerPak) and Miniland (EverDrive N8), I was curious if we could speedrun SMB1 on SNES/Super Famicom (through SD2SNES or Super Everdrive).
Is the Super Famicom allowed for the original SMB1? Is it allowed if I use SD2SNES to input the NES ROM or should I use Original NES?
@LieutenantLark just make the browser window smaller (Restore option) rather than full screen and do the same with your program (OBS or whatever) so that you can see both of them together…
Can LiveSplit layouts be used in LiveSplit One? Bcoz I want to add a framerule plugin (Super Mario Bros.) but there’s no option to… LiveSplit layouts can be used so I’m curious if I can do that, thanks anyway (P.S. I am not downloading and using LiveSplit because I am not allowed to xD)
@Oreo321 I got the Input Viewer today which connects my SNES Controller to my PC with USB, now the question is, I don't like downloading so much from the internet even though some apps are trusted, I want some website which can implement the display, I need a website. Is there any website which has SNES Controller skin? Pls let me know if there is some website
@AngryKermit thank you for this! I eventually got the AV splitter today! It's not the one you showed me, but it does exactly the same thing! Thank you! I'll begin speedrunning on my console today and it should be easy to do pipe jumps (Frame Perfect jumps) in Super Mario haha :D
