I don't think any pokémon game offers categories that start in the post game. I don't know how the challenge mode in gen5 works, but all other categories start on a fresh file. There is no rule like that yet, but I'm pretty sure using any applications outside of the system settings and the game itself on the console is not allowed and multiplayer features have to be either turned off or ignored completly.
USB ports, like many other things require drivers to work. You need to install those. You can find them by googleing your motherboard and going to their manufacturer's site. In my case there were 3 Drivers, one for the USB2.0 ports and two for the two different kinds of USB3 ports. To get them installed I used an older keyboard of mine that works with windows' standard drivers, same as the mouse I always use. For example my Corsair K70 wouldn't work (outside of the BIOS at least) until I installed both USB3 drivers.
quick edit: the person in your computerhope forum topic also mentioned the chipset drivers, which you'll also have to get from the manufacturer's site
In case you're asking this because of vietnamese crystal: https://github.com/pret/pokecrystal I think you need to have the same compiler to be able to properly decompile a rom, so can't really help you other than linking to pret's work.
some gaves have speedrun modes built in like Legend Of The Dark Witch on 3DS (I know episode 2 at least has Speedrun cards, which even show the times for individual levels)
There are lots of things that an emulator can do inaccurately like load times, handling lag, down to being inaccurate at calculations and basic game speed. From what I have crudely compared so far as an example VBA handles lag in Pokémon Emerald worse than an actual console does and plays the game at about 99.5% speed while I'm streaming (still shows as 100% and the correct framerate, so it's 99.5% or better). Usually the most accurate emulator will get picked as the preferred emulator, unless there are multiple that play the game perfectly of course. EDIT: I want to also note that being slower is as bad as being faster, it's just unfair towards different players.
you join a dead thread repeating something that makes as little sense as "stream on hitbox.tv". There is no site called that. No, you did not need to. But thx for showing me that this forum is no better than twitch chat.
No it wasn't specifically about that and thx for repeating it........ /sarcasm My problem was about the fact that I can't deal with any of chat's nonsense and me not having people who can mod my chat every stream. I sometimes (like tonight probably) stream after 3am, where everyone is either sleeping, tired or already busy with a better stream. I do ban people who don't follow my rules (which strictly forbid all examples given + another 3 that I didn't bother mentioning), but it still ruins my mood and makes me stop stream after I kill of the run by playing like complete shit.
Technically Capture Card is under the Umbrella term of Capture Devices. What you might mean is something like the Capture Card mod for 3DS vs a Capture Card like the Elgato Game Capture HD (of which there's the HD that also has composite in and the above mentioned Pro version, which is an internal PCI-E Card).
Capture Mods like for the 3DS are only a thing for Handhelds and the WiiU gamepad. There currently isn't one for the switch, as it would only be required for a very small selection of games, but there may be in the future (probably from Keity/Katsukity). For actual living room consoles (also including WiiU and Switch of course) you are going to want to follow Timmiluvs' advice above.
the title should still be a good TL;DR in this case, right? Sorry for deleting it I guess, but it's not like I literally ended the OP saying that I probably will delete it.
you are literally shooting on the ground through a gap. The portal is only bumping through the doorframe a bit, so it can fully exist in the closest spot possible to where it got shot. Note that the center point is not where you aim, similar to if you shot right in the corner of a wall.
The question that still stands is: Are we going to allow exploiting that gap, that the mapmakers either created by messing up or forgot to seal off.
The question is if this is a glitch at all, which there has already been plenty of good and well researched discussion.
okay I guess I will have to chime in here:
this is the Elgato Game Capture HD. As you can see here:
it has an AV Input, which requires the cable linked above. This will allow capturing any device with the same composite cables. The cable itself does not convert the signal to HDMI, because that is actually impossible. Composite is an analog signal, while HDMI is digital. The device itself converts the signal to HDMI (I actually don't know if the output will work at all, but if it will very likely have input lag).
The very confusing part is that ONLY this specific device has the required AV input. Here's the input I/O for the HD60 version:
The pro version is basically the HD60 on a PCI-E PCB:
No AV Input here either and the HD60 S just replaces the USB port with an updated (I'm guessing) Type-C port:
TL;DR: The cable linked above only works with the specific device it's made for and is in no form a converter to be used with anything else and newer version of the device don't support it. Please make sure you have the Elgato Game Capture HD, not the HD60 or HD60 S or Pro version.
That's a tough one, might end up being ruled as a seamshot (brb trying ingame)
here's the coords where I just got it, if anyone wants to try it
it seems to aim at a seam where the wall and ground meet and it bumps the portal through the doorframe (as far as I can tell at least)
awesome find tho
I mean I've called the mere concept of using IDs rather than clear names in the API stupid, which to whoever designed that part probably was kinda hurtful and I'm not banned yet. I did eventually choose to just leave an idea (in form of an Issue on github) for a future improvement, after someone mentioned that my questions and such were seen as whining. If even someone as incompetent at interacting as me can avoid a ban, it must be really frickin' hard to get banned, while not trying to. Signed, someone who got banned in multiple twitch chats for being a drama queen LUL
Found something else that gets on my nerves:
- Games that got created by series mods, but they never bothered putting any sort of rules or discord/external community website link in the description.
- The thought of what is going to happen to Gamecube/Wii runs, once disc rot has destroyed all game discs. Or what if all hardware eventually just breaks? Maybe I'm just paranoid.
