This is something that was mentioned to me by @9Withers and I’ve seen in other threads but verifiers are still not able to remove themselves from games. It seems like this is a problem because they need the help of a super moderator or site staff member to simply not moderate a game. Before the new site update, verifiers could see the "Edit Game" page, but only the moderators part of it. Even though they could see this page, they couldn't do anything but remove themselves as moderators, just like regular moderators. Now, there is no way for them to see this "Edit Game" page and therefore, no way for them to remove themselves from the game. The only thing that needs to change is to allow verifiers to see only the "Moderators" section of the "Edit Game" page. This seems like a big oversight with a really simple solution.
