Who am I?
My name is MADDMASTA. I'm just another person on the Internet who thinks they are good enough to get a world record in speedrunning. I also like to believe I'm funny when that clearly isn't the case.
As I'm sure is the case for many people here, I've been playing video games for most of my life. I originally started with the NES with games like Contra and Super Mario Bros., but quickly became enamored with the PC and the Nintendo DS. StarCraft: Brood War, Minecraft, and Mario Kart: DS remain as some of my all-time favorite video games.
How did you find out about speedrunning? Why did you decide to start speedrunning?
I've known about the concept of speedrunning for ages with Mario Kart: DS Time Trials, but I've never actually paid too much attention to it until SummoningSalt was recommended to me by YouTube a few years ago. I watched some videos, and I was an instant fan! I had considered doing my own run since then, but it wasn't until JaidenAnimation's newest video on speedrunning Cooking Mama 2: Dinner With Friends that I finally got the courage to dive in to the scene.
What games will I be speedrunning? I'm not sure yet! My PC isn't exactly a powerhouse (not to mention it runs Linux), so I'm leaning towards indie games, like CrossCode.
