Turbo is now allowed for all categories in the Let's Go and Sword/Shield category extensions leaderboards!
Turbo is a function that allows some 3rd party controllers to input repeated button presses by only holding the button down, i.e. holding down the A button would simulate repeatedly pressing the A button.
Once you have done a run with turbo, let a leaderboard moderator know, (in discord or the forums) and we will create the leaderboard for it. If there is enough active interest in turbo runs, the runs currently found without turbo on the main boards will also have turbo runs available there in a format that will be decided by a vote.
We're hopeful this will bring new, much needed accessibility to our speedrunning leaderboards.
As a result of the recent direction of speedrun.com and in solidarity with the other communities impacted by the site's recent changes, the Switch Pokémon Speedrunning moderation team is suspending verification of leaderboard submissions.
The speedrun.com page will remain dormant and we will not verify runs until speedrun.com allows disabling of comments and gives regular moderators the ability to delete comments.
We apologize for any runs waiting in the queue to be verified.
All Pokémon games on Nintendo Switch run significantly faster on Digital copies. It is therefore recommended to download them for speedruns.
Additionally, make sure to store the games on your internal storage and not an SD card, as these also have longer load times. You can move a digital game to the internal storage by following this guide.
