Hi, I'm getting into speedrunning for the first time, so I've started with Pokemon Red. I'm following instructions based off of Exarion's any% glitchless guide. He references a video that shows the exact inputs and position needed to manipulate rng for a perfect Nidoran. I've followed the inputs in the video, but I still can't get the Nidoran. I'm using Gambatte at the moment, but I've also tried BGB. Can someone help me figure out how to get this manipulation to work? Thank you for your time.

You get different movement from the NPC, did you walk over to the left before saving? You need to not do that. Enter and exit the mart, then go back to the tile and resave, that should fix it.

That was exactly what I needed to change. After fixing that, the trick consistently works for me now. It's weird to know that even the NPCs you influence before resetting can affect RNG. Thank you!

I’ve had this same issue, and I made sure I enter and exited the mart like d4n said. Does the a press at around the :22 second mark have anything to do with it?

Yes, you have to do the A press on the same tile.

Is the a press on the movement from the 2nd to last green tile to last green tile or is while the sprite is moving across the last green tile?
