Cool that you're interested in learning Rayman 3 - welcome on board!

1) The best emu is Dolphin w/ OpenGL enabled in the settings
2) It definitely takes some learning, but if you do it with some patience, you'll see yourself getting decent runs pretty quickly! Just try to avoid the things that are too hard for you at first and focus on the stuff you can do.

I have no idea why it's not working for you. Robin and I co-developed Ramone and GMS never had any problems with that. 😕
