I agree with LonerHero, and want to add that in the future, a load remover should be welcomed for PC versions whenever it's reliable enough.

- You want to do all the tricks available, EXCEPT bunnyhopping and other movement mechanics (which is very arbitrary given how things work in this game), glitchless mod is the best we can offer right now! You may upload a run with your own arbitrary rules (as long as they respect our board rules regarding scripts and stuff) here.

I don't speak spanish very well but... no bunnyhopping is very arbitrary, how long between jumps do you have to wait to not consider it... bunnyhopping? what about duckrolling which is how you get speed at higher fps (like in the steam version)? the glitchless mod is close to what you want, except it patches a bunch of other glitches you want to do... you can just submit your run here. If you come up with very defined rules I guess I can talk to the mods to make a new category, no-movement-mechanics%? perhaps a special version of yalter's glitchless mod? 🤔

Thread: Question about Steam version

Started by: AryionAryion

They're a bit different because steam version allows above 100 fps (which is good for movement/enemies/health door) but it's handicapped by the bunnyhop speed cap (which you can sort of bypass by ducking instead of jumping), whereas WON version isn't. Steam has quickgauss, a trick that allows shooting a fully charged gauss charge using a single cell of ammo which isn't possible on WON. You can watch my steam run and see how things are complicated sometimes because of bhop cap alone.

Thread: Gonarch bug

For the first map, wait until gonarch looks at you for sure before shooting, lower fps to make her turn faster. As for the second map, look where some runner stands, make a save before shooting her for the second time, if she doesn't walk on a straight line to the 3rd final spot, reload the quick save and re-position yourself a bit!

Thread: ESC and Load jump ?

Started by: CrawzzCrawzz

That script is basically a manual way of doing the automated one. At the moment there's no formula for finding ducked or double-duck jumpbugs, you can only try random values but it's too precise. There's a spreadsheet by Jukspa that shows fps values for walking off or jumping for various units of height. For scripted it's perfect if you can time a jump and count frames, but walking off is uncertain.Gladly jumping works for most cases. The best you can do if you don't want the timed script, is to lower fps, jump and crouch mid-air all manually then hit a key with "-duck;+jump;wait;-jump;fps_max 99.5" while crouched.

Thread: ESC and Load jump ?

bxt_append is sort of a universal replacement for both "cmd name" (WON) and "_special" (steam, pre-steampipe). I have a long scripts.cfg organized in a similar fashion, I use F1 to F10 to change between scripts as I need them during the run. Your script is quite confusing, I doubt you'll need it. The important detail is to wait one frame after switching framerate to jump.

If you insist in something manual then try:
alias +jumpbug "fps_max 20.40816;wait;+jump;+duck;wait;-jump"
alias -jumpbug "-duck;+jump;wait;fps_max 99.5"
bind key +jumpbug

I made plenty of jumpbug scripts, give them a try: https://github.com/parklez/Half-Life-Scripts#3-jumpbugs-bxt

I don't think it's possible to deal with -command after pausing/esc, it's by design. GoldSrc builds from 2003-2009 can hold mouse inputs while reloading saves, so you can hold and continue charging the gauss for example.

Thread: pls help me me game crash after a lot quick load

Started by: HaragoreHaragore

The game crashes for hundreds of reasons, shouldn't be common tho. There's no fix other than trying out another package or reinstalling the game fresh. If you happen to load two saves at the same time, it will crash. There's other minor cases where saves in particular spots will cause crash when you reload it, but from experience it's very rare. in Opposing Force it's way more common.
