Easiest category to learn.

I'm starting to get interested in running this game and I was wondering what the easiest category to learn would be(other than any%)

France

I think No RBA/WW (the current one with GIM) is a good pick for beginners

United States

no ww is pretty easy. that's what I started with. There aren't many tough tricks in that run. The hardest being the mega flip across the bridge and that is actually pretty easy. plus, this category is almost purely movement so you get to work on that for other runs too :) if your curious a no ww run lasts about an hour 15 min for beginners and it gets down to be around an hour

sweet thanks for the tips guys

Netherlands

I think the easiest thing to learn is any%, mainly because it's so short and there's no intimidating glitches like RBA to learn. Also, there's a really good tutorial series for beginners made by MichaelRadar

United States

I know this is a bit late, but I think Glitchless is the easiest to learn, tbh. Getting really good at it is hard because it's all about movement optimizations, but I think it has the easiest learning curve (provided you measure learning curve through number of frame perfect tricks to learn). Speaking mostly from experience, since it's the first/only OoT category I currently know.

The obvious downside is time. It's a super long run, even at high levels. Also, it might just not interest you, if you're interested primarily in learning the glitches of the game. Figured I'd just give my perspective on it, though.

The easiest ones to learn would be Any% and MST, because they have the most beginner-friendly resources/tutorials. Jelster linked the Any% tutorial above, but here is zellyzel's MST tutorial as well:

Between Any% and MST (might be a bit biased here lmao) I would prefer Any%, because it's easy to finish multiple runs a day and you see improvement quickly. I'm also not a big fan of many parts of MST because they're simply boring, for example Trials.

Muted Audio on Twitch Highlights

Recently, many longer runs submitted as Twitch highlights have had parts of their audio muted due to Twitch's automatic copyright detection, the most frequent case being long sections of Lost Woods music. Some vods will even give a network error at these parts which can cause several minutes of foot
