Is it allowed to go to jungle in All Areas%? looking at the rules I'm assuming it is. I know it says no skips are allowed, but from what I understood as long as I kill every boss it's fine
That is a very great question, and while you do not skip any zones themselves like the oasis skip, you do essentially skip 5-1 by not having to complete the whole level. By the logic of not skipping any bosses, the Oasis skip doesn't skip any bosses either, you kill Big Bandit and then fight Big Dog right afterwards without any bosses missed, so the criteria of not skipping bosses is sorta pointless. However, not using the Jungle should also mean that using proto statues to enter the crown vault should not be allowed, but that is something that there should be some sort of vote on. The rules should definitely be much more specific.
Well, whats your opinion? I think that in a no skip run, there should be 0 skips of any kind. No Oasis, no Jungle, no Statue, not even the Pizza level. These are pretty important decisions that everyone should be invovled with, not just the mods.
I'd be fine with that, but that would require removing all the other runs that used a crown vault, so I'm not sure about the other people
Can you not go to the crown vault, why? I mean, you aren't skipping any level because you're going from 5-2 to vault and then 5-3, it isn't a great skip, just some seconds in 5-2.
I feel like it is essentially skipping half of 5-2, which seems like enough to be considered a skip to me. The point of this though is to determine what should count as a skip.
the way i see skips is like this, and we should probably have more indepth discussion about it but here is how i see it:
if at any point, you skip past the normal level progression line (1-1, 1-2, 1-3, etc.) it counts as a skip. pretty much you want to have a normal line in the portal loading screen to have no skips.
