Autosplitter (Livesplit)

Hello there, I'm new and want to do my first speedrun in this game and saw some worldrecords! I always see, that they don't split manually, so they get a really precise time like I want to have. Some others say, you can do it manually, but if there are only seconds or millyseconds to count that's bad. Ist there a way to have an autosplitter within livesplit? I know there is a section for this question but it is 2 years old! And the current worldrecord was broken this year. Pls help me out thx :) ! PS: I capture the game from the console!

I believe there is no current autosplitter, if you want accurate splits the best bet is to split when "course clear' turns gold however most people split on fadeout (all world records do this too).

If you have a capture card you can use this auto splitter https://github.com/Toufool/Auto-Split All it does is finds the image you saved for that split, tries to find it on the capture card (or whatever video input you have) and splits there. I would recommend having a good computer and a good capture card for it to be accurate

@MDA_Mindmx most people actually do split manually. As long as you find a consistent split time (i.e. course clear, fadeout) you can generally get a fairly accurate split. Like glowy said, there is an autosplitter but that also comes with the risk of it not finding the correct image and by extent not splitting. Due to the way that autosplitters work, splitting manually is overall your best bet in my opinion.

And @BMAN there isn’t a “most accurate way to split” because it’s different for everyone.

What would I do to show the time and splits if I don't have a capture card or is it just not possible at that point

what is with the world records? I mean if you do this manually it won't be precise enough...

@Squashh_1 If you don't have a capture card you can prop a phone up and use that to record with another device running the splits, and an autosplitter function would not be possible.

@MDA_Mindmax Basically everyone the community (top runners included) split manually. It's very much precise enough and runs with video generally get retimed anyways (runs over 25:00 get retimed to make sure the time is accurate and runs under that get retimed without loads anyways).

@DiamondcrafterA Well I use a capture card... even elgato but there is a sound delay... so I have to reset it that the sound gets synced and this stops the game for a few milliseconds! does this effect the validity?
