A sub 27 seems fine to me. Please don't make the requirement bigger because I know how nice it was for me that I didn't have to record until I knew I could sub 25.

I guess sub 25 for DS is a bit too low. Sub 27 sounds better to me. I would however request a low video quality requirement because of the difficulty to have a good setup (would record with my incrusted PC's webcam)

No, more seriously I think the idea of not allowed run without video under a certain time is a good idea because I think when you are a top level runners you should be able to get everything you need to be one (buy a capture card and get the fastest version) this is what I did when I started to play on Wii U and I think people should do that after they see they are losing time because of the emulator lags.
And for caming back on the thread "disallowing emulators" I think we should not allowed them on a under a certain time or even hidden or banning them (this is what they did on most game where emulator is not accurate) because the emulator is not an official platforms and have a thing called "record movie" so even if emulator runner have a video, you can't see if it's cheated or not.

If you choose "record video" it records in real time

I'm not a runner of this game but I give my opinion about video proofs.

Videoless runs can be a good thing but the big problem with that for "popular" games is a lot of users submit a random time just to have a run on their profile, so fake, even if splits file are joined. Splits files only is not a notable proof.

Require video for all runs it's the better option, because firstly speedrun is more competitive than few years ago, and secondly, disallow runs without video will make the leaderboard more clean and serious. I think a lot of nsmb players are frustrated to see their time beated by other players without a video evidence.
