We do not accept runs without video proof, so if you want your run to be accepted then record you doing the run in its entirety and submit it.
I make my own splits personally, most of them are hit upon fade-out after leaving each section of a level. For 100% I also made a split for each time I re-enter Tassel Dessert just because it was funny to make splits showing how fucking much we go into that level for grinding.
So I was just curious why Warpless (Or I guess as the og smb2 boards call it now, "All Stages") isn't on the leaderboards? Is it only because no one's really done a run? And why hasn't anyone done it yet if that's the case? It seems kind of odd to me that no one's considered it yet.
On that note I mean if you want to start with 100% go nuts but I would highly recommend NOT doing that unless you're really confident about your ability to route and build vehicles and such. Any% was a nightmare enough for us as it was and there's STILL probably things we could improve on. I do have a tutorial in the guide section for any% although it's extremely outdated at this point. But it should still help a beginner well. Also I do plan on making a new tutorial hopefully sooner rather then later, but I've been way too focused on other speedgames and busy with a bunch of in real irl stuff at the same time so who knows when I'll get to that.
If you need any help or pointers though we do have a discord, it's part of the general banjo-kazooie community but it's there if you want it, although almost no one talks in it, I still will see it and would be willing to help you with whatever you need.
I actually never thought about it, but I don't think you'd have to do the DLC in 100%, considering it's extra paid content. Also the one run that's on there isn't really a good measure for how long it is, that was routed pretty terribly in less then a week by someone who never ran the game before that point. Scykoh and I were guessing it would take around 6 hours for a decent well routed run.
if you actually wanna go route out 100% have fun with that it'd be interesting to watch though, what's your twitch handle?
Also about the splicing I think you misunderstood what the rules were saying, it said nothing about editing L.O.G.'s Choice vehicles when the mission starts, there's a lot of spots where I do that in any% lol

That's a really comprehensive resource on the routes, game mechanics and boss strategies. Might be slightly outdated but still really well done.
That and watch the vods for some of the fastest times, maybe some of the ones lower on the line for more beginner friendly routes?
Good luck!
Do you guys need help or something moving times over? I don't get why it's taking so long. I don't even know where I'm supposed to be submitting times. And do you need me to message Pac to remove the old boards or something? I'm sure he could also merge them or something for us
Just sent you the 25 bucks through paypal

Crap I was just about to ask if anyone had a room from the Thursday to that Sunday. Uh... anyone need a roomate? Preferably a room of 4.
We've never actually talked about this lol but idk don't see why not unless you have a decent time. I guess just as a temporary rule I'd say don't worry about it until your time is sub 2:30. I'm not saying that is a permanent standard it might change in the future I just wanted to give you a number esp. since it took me 8 days to respond lol (haven't logged onto speedrun.com in a while).
Also for the game time results just post a picture or pictures as proof of your time.
As for capture cards I'd highly recommend getting a Dazzle unless you're running on Xbone, since they're cheap, efficient, and can capture almost every console, including much older ones if they're modded to connect to AV.
I’m not exactly sure what you guys expect me or ComboBlaze to do for my Smash 64 submission. When I submitted the game + category it was for the sole purpose of doing Kirby 3 stock classic normal during the Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts intro, as it is a tradition during my runs, the intro is 9 minutes and unskippable, and the category is only 6-7 minutes long if you’re decent at the category. That's not to say I wouldn't be unwilling to do a run outside of those circumstances, but I don’t actually know any of the characters speedrunning wise nor am I actually a competitive smasher of any sort like ComboBlaze is, I just picked the game up because it seemed like a fun game to speedrun and I needed something to kill time during the Nuts & Bolts resets.
My questions are: Do you still want smash 64 to go on during the Nuts and Bolts intro, and if so would it be a bid war or no? Also if we did do smash 64 during the intro would there be another segment just for smash 64 or would that be it? Should I just not do the Nuts and Bolts intro entirely and start after the intro?
I never really considered it because Scykoh and I usually just go off of times on the online leaderboards that are built into the game. I'm not sure there'd be much of a point to put ils here when there's official boards already. I'll think about it, Scykoh said he wouldn't mind but it might take a bit to make if we did it considering there's probably around 100 missions (I don't actually know how many missions there are total I just threw a ballpark number, it's a lot I know that).
Hey I was just wondering why there isn't a leaderboard for Sonic and Tails "Good Future" (separate categories I mean). I ask because I just started learning Sonic Good Future last weekend for the 12 hour speedrunning challenge and I've been doing runs since then, and just got a new pb for my 3rd finished run just a few hours ago as of writing, it was a 25:47.46 IGT 34:05.87 RTA, and I wanted to submit my time but there's no board for it.
Also speaking of just running the game hey I've just started running the game and I was wondering if you guys had any tips for anyone new? Also there's a couple of tricks/glitches/strats/whatever I don't understand how to do that well, or in some cases at all and I was wondering if there was any vids/guides explaining how they work.
The ones that are coming to mind are:
The screen wrap post boss fight in PalmTree 3 Jumping over the ball pit in the beginning of Collision Chaos 2 The Quick kill on the boss in Quadrant 3 Getting 2 hits on the final boss.
There might be something I'm forgetting about but those are the only big ones that are coming to mind.
Hey, so I was in G_heinz chat earlier and we were talking about possible categories for Friends of Mineral Town. I have thought about running this game a long time ago because it's my favorite Harvest Moon game but I ran into a HUGE issue. Unlike a lot of other hm games this game doesn't have any good goals I could run to. Marriage% seemed a bit lacking of a category. I thought of doing all house upgrades and cottages but the issue with that is one of the cottages requires you to be married for 50 ingame YEARS and the other cottage requires connecting to AWL.
He suggested people should start using the forums for stuff like this so I decided why not. So I guess suggest away, lets make this a reality? Any ideas guys? Who here will be my hero and grace the planet with a good FoMT category to run?
