you can do the foward variant which as mentioned previously is more. consistent. since you have an input in less to make. My advice is simple and i know it's a cliche. but simply Go for it. the further you advance down the time-saves the harder saving time will become and while it is easy to feel overwhelmed i reccomend you look at it the following way: ''Oh i failed, meh. next attempt here i come :D'' when it come to one frames/frame perfect inputs it's only so much harder. but you'Il feel very proud when you manage to get it down. don't bother yourself too hard just pratice and have fun. speedrunning isn't alway fun when it come to praticing but it doesn't mean you cant have fun nonetheless.

I expected this to goes like: you can still use powerups(to allow progression) the dagger is also allowed to kill bosses. But otherwise its pure platforming but yeah. With some thoughts it sound weird. I had the idea when watching hoverless in the SMS community. I’ve been trying to revive daggerhood speedrunning because i feel like the game has good potential. But since my record was broken i myself hasn’t really done much… Someone like me who cant really record pc games i enjoyed daggerhood being multi platforms. I guess all good things come to an end. Unless someone discover an major glitch i don’t see daggerhood(mobile) WR going under 4:59-4:56 either. And there almost no runs being submitted as you said… It’s sad to see this game dying.

I’ve thought about a concept of running daggerhood daggerless.. it would be called daggerless which would force you to play without the dagger, i also thought about a sub-category for this called ‘’teleportless’’ which allow you to use the dagger but not teleport with it. I will work on a run to see if the game is possible without the dagger but i feel like this would attract new players. And would give us an even bigger challenge. What do you guys think?

that was a very impressive run, i thought skipping the cutscene was not allowed in the rules of daggerhood speedrunning i guess i was wrong. i thought i was gonna hold the world record.. atleast i held it for a year! haha. congratulation dude

This would be an amazing suggestion If it was for any other games, with a game as optimized as SMB1 Where every little thing matter, Individual levels would just Be tons of work for the mods with no real reward for the SMB1 community. Plus everyone would get Easy WRS No times would be beaten and the category would die instantly. Good idea, wrong game

Videos that are low resolution or stretched are still accepted as long as you can still see what’s going on. A lot of runs in the very old days had mediocre quality since not all of us had high resolution. So don’t worry :)

Some of the glitches in yeah bunny 2 are huge and easy to see but some are actually much more subtle. Maybe you did a strat that actually require glitches but didnt notice because it was very subtle? Rewatch your runs and try seeing if anything is out of ordinary! :D

‘’Asking questions is the showcase of high intellect’’ I think its safe to assume that with SMB being this optimized unless we make any major discoveries Runs wont get lower than 4:01 at best. Although its alway nice to test out stuff its impossible to save time by climbing the wall.

Do anybody believe we could get 5 mins or below in cavern or wouldnt it require insane strats ? My 5:56 run on mobile(current WR) wasnt even super optimized i made a few mistakes so i wonder. What would you guys assume would be the best possible cavern run. ? With the current meta i assume 5:30. But i may be wrong? Feel free to argument politely and with respect!

IF its to play all alone then sure but for actual runs no, the same rules apply to Multiplayers games. Any form of cheat codes is prohibited. Only glitches are allowed and in some category, certain specific glitches are banned. Remember kids cheating is bad!

There is a mobile version of daggerhood which i use for speedrunning. I currently hold the world record for mobile version too. It take a bit of pratice but its definitely runnable. Not only that i suggested a boss rush speedrun category (that no one care about it seem) if OG daggerhood pro’s like you come back maybe we could popularize the game again and maybe give life to new categories? You can alway use mobile like me which has its own category yes but is still pretty Good. ?

Og speedrunners when these skips were discovered at some point used to rely on foward bump. Then that one guy came in did nearly the entire game with Backward Jumps and somewhat proved it to be faster. Sadly its not a discovery but hey its alway nice to learn something new isn’t it?
