@srd_27 I have exactly the issue you mentioned: the mods are inactive and there are no other runners running the game / willing to moderate the leaderboard.

Actually having only 2 site moderators in a similar timezone have obvious problems in 2 aspects.

1. Site spam cannot be handled fastly.
2. Other urgent incident cannot be handled fastly.

Also I am saying that site does not have a clear standard to determine if an user get mod banned can get mod unbanned while site staff said that people who got mod banned could get mod unbanned before. There are various cases that people get mod unbanned easily.

Actually, people have the timezone similar or same as timezone of the site staff so they can always have many time ro contact the staff. But hey, have you ever thought of the feeling of the people having different timezone?

Also you mentioned that mod farmer shouldn't moderate the games. Hey, you forget one thing: if you check, I haven't mod farm for a long time. Why can other people who get mod banned so easily to get unbanned but I have to wait like this.

Also, the site management before src gets acquired is obviously better than after src gets acquired. Because there used to be more moderator to handle the staff. This is the fact that can be observed.

@Reverse mod farming means moderating a lot of leaderboards but do not care about the leaderboards. I used to be a mod farmer before but I changed.

It is very interesting that Meta replied me that I wouldn't get respond about getting mod unbanned within half a year and Starsmiley replied me that not only Meta and she handled the mod ban appeal. More interesting thing is that Jackzfiml can get mod unbanned so easily only after he DMed Starsmiley about mod ban appeal. But Starsmiley sometimes told me to send the appeal to support hub, sometimes told me to send the appeal to email or DM. I don't know why they always change the options. It is very confusing too.

First, I don't understand why there are just two site moderators. Only they handle the site stuff and the efficiency is obviously low. Not to mention, they are in the similar time zone and sometimes it is impossible to contact them immediately. Elo earns a lot of money from making advertisement on src but why cannot they just open the piggy bank and recruit more moderators. Apart from the efficiency, sometimes there are only 2 moderators who made the decision specifically they also mentioned that they were also busy. It may make the users wait for the respond from the site staff for endless time.

Secondly, for the mod ban thing. We did not know that thing existed before we even get banned. Mod ban itself is very subjective. And mod unban is very subjective too. It is very easy for some people to get mod whitelisted but it is very hard for some people to get mod whitelisted no matter how many things they have done. For me, I have not done anything that is against the moderation rule for a long time and I send countless mod ban appeal. But I get 0 respond from the site staff. There is no a clear requirement of getting mod whitelisted and there is no standard of getting mod banned.

Back to the question I asked in forum a long time ago. "Will I get mod unbanned before 2022?". My answer is no because of the currently situation of the poor site management of the site. I think that src should provide a comfortable environment for the speedrunner. But after seeing the complain of the site update of src in the forum, I think that the environment of src is worse than before src get acquired by an advertising company that only cares about money but not the community itself.

I hope that the "Other", "Give feedback", "Report a bug", etc tickets can be seen in pending actions after the ticket is submitted.

First of all, everyone can change even if they cheat / fake the speedrun. It is not fair for the banned runners to be disallowed to submit their run forever only because they cheat / fake a speedrun. It makes more sense to only ban them from submitting the runs from individual leaderboard.

I remember I once mentioned that speedrun.com has a function to disable the run submission / edit from the site temporality in this thread before but I do not know if it is deleted by site moderator

You can send a ticket to the support hub. After you send the ticket to support hub, what you can do is to hope that site moderators will handle the issue or respond to your ticket.

We should all have mental preparation about the similar problem. It is because even you get punished in the site and you are innocent, they always think they are true and ignore the message from some people. There are only 2 moderators in this site and I am wondering how they can handle things properly? For example, the rules of the site keep changing and they even do not notify people about it. Even more, I sometimes even receive different answers from the two site moderator on the same question. I think they have lack of the communication in the community and internally as well. Also, use another example, I always have some important question in the site and want to ask site moderator for help but they either tell me to use support hub or ignore my message too. But the funniest point is that there is a sentence in the speedrun.com Discord server mentioning that we can direct message site moderator when we need help. I do not think new management treats the site stuff well.

Also even the game can be played with an on-screen keyboard after bypassing the black screen, I am wondering if it is allowed to use lua file to use PC keyboard to do the typing in game. (The lua file can be found somewhere in the internet. But because of legal reasons, I cannot link it here)

Suggestion if emulator and Action Replay code are allowed to be used:

• Allow lua file: Using mouse to click the button in the on-screen keyboard in the emulator is hard if we do not allow lua file.
• Not allow lua file: If we allow using lua file because some buttons in the keyboard in the game overlaps the control of the emulator. E.g. X button is used for pressing A in DS in Desmume at default but X button is used for beating some of the levels in the game. If we allow lua file, we need to require the runners to turn off all hotkeys to prevent the runner pressing hotkey when they type the keyboard during the run. For example, N button is used for frame advance in Desmume at default but pressing N button is required to beat the levels in the game at the same time.

To be easier to understand: Lua file can make the game be able to emulate the original nintendo wireless keyboard with PC keyboard. Most of the buttons in nintendo wireless keyboard are required to use to complete the game. Pressing the button in PC keyboard will both emulate the nintendo wireless keyboard and function the hotkey or the control of Desmume at the same time.
