The strum bar controls left and right, 1st fret is Up. 2nd fret is A, (Sword) 3rd fret is B, (Special Items) 4th fret is Down.
Select is the wide Star Power button and Start is the tiny + button next to it.
Ditched the Blue Ring and Blue Candle for the 2-first Red Candle route. Was even on 35 pace at Magical Sword!
I took a bunch of hits in 6, 8, and 9, that required a lot of potion use, but got my first sub-39!
