The most important thing is getting the setup correctly. Turn the camera 4 times and then zoom in, and you want the astronaut to be pretty much lined up directly in the center of the robot, maybe slightly to the left of center. Then you want to hold down with the robot and use your blaster just enough to keep the astronaut in the air until you get under the overpass and then mash quickly to get on top of the robot. This saves about 5 seconds over the normal strat if you line it up quickly like in the video below:
