Anyone else find the glitch in treasure reef where you're pushed up past the dynamite at the end of the lvl because you go OOB?
It's at the end of the 2nd room, I think it has something to do with the flip in mid air.
Im trying to do the trick myself with different strats but i think it has to do with something with the character getting smaller in a couple of frames mid flip and with the help of the platform pushes you throug the dynamite. Im not sure tho
I think you're right Heliotay, it's almost like you have to land on the platform at a specific time in the flip and it pushes you through the TNT.
If you go frame by frame in my recording after 1:07:20, I think it's because I jump to the right and change directions near the apex of the jump. Combined with the fact that the platform was moving up and the stage in the flip I was in, it pushes you through terrain; I could be wrong though.
to try to recreate this trick is just a matter of trial and error and when someone accualy gets it on camera we can have a sure way to do it again depending on if they did the same thing you did or there is another way to do it. But when this game becomes very optimiesed in the far future this trick can be huge in any%.
Especially if it can be done without platforms. You could get crazy times just zipping through terrain. XD
i agree! in some maps there are cliffs that you can jump upp and instead of jumping on the side of them you could just zip through them like you said. That will completely change any% speedruns.
Figured out how to do it reliably, but it has to be done with platforms. However, you only have 1 chance.
You have to line up the moving platform with the green moss, and then jump when that happens while holding to the left. This video shows how it works;
If you fail the jump and hit the TNT you'd have to restart the run to do the glitch again, or you just move on and do it the normal way.
I think we where right then about the character getting smaller and the platform pushing him. Good job
I'm pretty sure that's it too, because I tried with you just standing there (as a test, you do these things) and it pushed me off the platform instead, I just went under it. So I'm pretty sure it has to do with the hit-box getting smaller or something to that effect.
I want to try getting in contact with one of the developers, but I'm not sure if that's going to happen or not.
