@Seydie I use an IPhone 4S IOS 9.3.5 I use the Google app for browsing. I tried Safari and the same thing happened.
If I'm the only one, it's maybe a problem with Twitch.
I’d wager a problem with Twitch or a problem with your phone. That’s is an older phone and an older iOS version and something that old can be prone to weird issues as sites push out updates.
Hello! When I try to view a Twitch VOD from my PC using Firefox (and, for giggles, tried Edge, same thing) - https://www.speedrun.com/lb/run/mrq3992y the controls vanish immediately. As I use Firefox I can right click Show Controls and, well, it plays for 6 seconds and then freezes. Not to mention the total time is really long. - https://gyazo.com/1ec2d1e3c5ad2ee7a1f7c2eeae225ed3 - It's not the only one I noticed. I was also trying to view - https://www.speedrun.com/lswtcs/run/mr8qe54y - and same thing. Same for - https://www.speedrun.com/lij/run/yjkr537m - and pretty much any Twitch video. But the Youtube videos work just fine. So I dunno, since I can't get a direct link to the Twitch VOD I can't watch it over on Twitch but when I load up Twitch.tv it plays videos and streams just fine. So I dunno. Something seems broken. :(
Ya im having the same issue (using google chrome). The play console disappears for twitch vods when I try to view runs. If I manually go into runners profile and open their twitch account, looking up the video myself - it works perfectly.
Can't watch it from SRC somehow though.
Just popping in to say that I too experience the inability to playback/etc twitch vods. I also notice if you quickly click 'twitch' in the bottom right corner before controls disappear, the URL is .tv//v/ (yes with the double / ) instead of .tv/videos/ . I think that's the issue.
Like I said, this is probably a twitch problem.
@Timmiluvs Except you can watch them on Twitch just fine and as abra238 pointed out the URL is malformed so it's a site problem.
The twitch vod issue is actually twitch's side. Take the embed code from their site yourself and use it in your own web page - it doesn't work. It's their issue.
@llloyd4 while this is true that it's malformed, the player directs this url natively, it is not our issue.
alright to summarize this more in depth for anyone that further complains, this is a normal twitch vod url:
normal and broken: https://player.twitch.tv/?video=v280983312&autoplay=false&time=0 normal with autoplay changed and working: https://player.twitch.tv/?video=v280983312&autoplay=true&time=0 normal with paramaters removed and working: https://player.twitch.tv/?video=v280983312
the reason? broken javascript; Uncaught (in promise) SyntaxError: Unexpected token < in JSON at position 0
someone at twitch seems to have broken the logic for autoplay false which results in the player basically dying.
I changed the player to auto play until Twitch fixes this.
https://www.speedrun.com/tp I believe one of the staff members tried to add the NVIDIA Shield as a console, since then, the TP page is completely broken. Just adding this here to spread awareness.
We cannot access anything rn including the game settings.
Resolved for now. Will look into the platform editing and deleting later to ensure this doesn't happen again.
