Ingame timer issue

I think that the ingame timer may be slower than real time. I was timing some videos of my practice runs and noticed the karma timer was incrementing slightly slower than livespliter.

This is from a timer test I did on Xbox one X in the stadium challenge https://i.imgur.com/rkE8ITh.png

This is from the timer from jtb's archive challenge video which he did on xb360 (i think) https://i.imgur.com/ZXzatNk.png

Looks like ingame time will have to be disregarded and we'll have to rely on real time only.

*I'm busy uploading the videos that I did the timer test on, I'll post them later

Great find, Unway!

I was thinking that if the IGT is consistent with this, would it possibly still make for an effective judge of time? On the other hand, I suppose it's not a real-world time which is kind of off-putting for a speedrun.

as I've always said, I think IGT should definitely be displayed on the leaderboards, but RTA should be what determines leaderboard positions. IE. if someone has a 1:49:51 IGT and 1:59:51 RTA, and someone else has a 1:49:49 IGT but a 1:59:53 RTA (just as an example), the former should be the one to have the higher leaderboard position.

I don't think there's any problem with displaying the IGT on the leaderboards, even with this being known, as long as it isn't the primary timing method used by the boards to allocate lb positions.

  • Time is based on real time.
  • Starts from when X pressed on the start of the first chapter screen.
  • Ends when Fiend Murai is killed.

So if the video shows you pressed X on the chapter 1 start screen at 0:00:15, then you kill Fiend Murai at 2:01:10. Then you deduct that first timestamp off the final stamp to get 2:00:55. The final decimal spots of the final time is truncated.
