Angie done, Silverton to go. I've discovered four possibilities to pass Angie (at the beginning).

1. Between second and third corner - this is very rare and I've never done it in first try, so you won't see that in my segmented run.
2. Third corner - you have to take the inside line and drive under her. This only works if Angie either crashes to the sign between second and third corner or if she takes the outside line in third corner. This is in my run.
3. In the tunnel after third corner.
4. Later in one specific wide corner, where she always takes the outside line - most common point of overtaking her. I think it's at 20%.

Btw, my original plan for Silverton was to use Viper since you don't loose 40+ seconds unlocking Corvette and tuned RX-7 is still pretty fast, but it turns out Corvette can make up those 40 seconds. The difference is only about 10 seconds though :) Also, passing Darius is much easier with Corvette, because it has much better handling than Viper.

Had a funny failure during my try today. Definitely not a recommended strat. :D

You can easily pass Wolf if you take outside line. He's the easiest boss.

First run done. Failed the splits (and forgot what is the undo button), so it was timed manually. Everything went pretty much according to the plan, although the intro pursuit was really really bad.

WOW, I didn't follow that much the game the past few weeks, but it seems that the game is just not the same than before ! Nice time Ewil, do you think sub 2h is possible?

I don't think sub 2 hours is possible in RTA. It might be possible in a segmented run.

Improved my record a bit, but had a really bad luck with police and Darius.

I also wrote a tuning guide, hopefully everything is correct.

I've tested transmission many times on one track and never got any noticeable improvement. I also tested it in a straight line with no difference. Everything was within statistical error.

As for the tires, drift tyres can help if you're driving a car with understeer, like Elise. Corvette seems to be fastest with either 2 or 3, whichever you prefer. Drift tyres just slide too much with that car.

Ok, I will retest the transmission again :)

The only reason for selecting Camaro is to play Muscle career, which is slightly faster thanks to slightly different conditions to unlock Corvette. You don't have to do Blackwell Road, which takes about 2:45, you can do Canmor Road instead, which takes about 2:01 minus 10 seconds of buying Viper. And as a bonus you don't need any of the bosses cars.

If you compare Tuner and Muscle careers from tier 1 to tier 2, there is actually NO difference in time, at least from the routes I've tested :)

Hmm, there really seems to be a small difference with transmission and even turbo. I will post a docsheet with numbers once I'm done with testing. It seems my initial testing was affected by nitrous, which is unreliable.

It's WIP, but it already shows that only engine and nitrous is important, transmission and turbo is a bonus if you can get it, suspension will most likely slow you down during acceleration (but not in real lap times) and tires needs to be tested further. Brakes showed zero difference.

EDIT: Should be viewable now. Yes tires make a difference, but this is focused only on acceleration. It also seems like once you upgrade your engine, transmission is useless as my previous tests suggested.

I didn't test much, but tires make a lot of difference. Although it seems that on some cars it adds more understeer/oversteer, for a weird reason.

Well, you said you managed to improve your lap times with transmission and drift tires, so I just wanted to see if there's any evidence to back it up since I saw no difference, and there is. From what I remember, you upgraded RX-8 with transmission, nitrous and tires just after first territory - and transmission does make some difference without engine.

I did my tests with pro engine and as you can see - no difference (street 111 is only faster due to 5th being too short for 230kph - upshift boost to 6th). Yeah, the tests were done with Mazda Speed 3, so other cars may display different results, especially Elise.

The question is if there is any real benefit from having shorter gears. I think there might be since you should be able to use upshift boost more frequently, but it's probably not possible to test.

Re-race RNG can be avoided simply by reloading the last autosave. You can see that in my runs and it's also written in my guide. No need to kill the game.

I don't understand exactly what this command do, can you explain a bit more?

Is this script a modification of the game's files? or is it something apart?

as I said I didn't understood well, but as I can see now, it's looking like unfair, isn't it? or maybe I'm completely wrong. Please explain so I don't take any hasted conclusions.

The "script" (or rather a simple command) tells Windows to run the game on just one cpu core since Carbon, MW and U2 (and maybe U1 and Undercover) have problems running on multiple core cpus. It doesn't modify the game at all. It's the same as running the game, alt-tabbing back to Windows and manually setting the cpu core affinity in task manager.
