I don't know yet. I'd like to do another U2 run first on easy difficulty, then maybe. I still don't like that driving model though. It feels like driving on icy roads. On the other hand, it's quite "short" with lot of cutscenes, which is perfect for speedrunning (or maybe we should call it speeddriving).

Grim, do you know if bosses cars are any different to stock variants besides installed nitrous?

EDIT: Nevermind, they only have racing nitrous. Btw, I've tried to start with muscle category and it's only about 20 seconds slower up to Tier 3. The main problem is that there is no good Tier 2 car in muscle or exotic category and Angie's Charger R/T has a bad handling and even fully upgraded Camaro SS is about 12 seconds slower in Fortuna compared to Kenji's RX-7. Exotic is totally out since Fortuna is by far the longest of all the 3 starting territories.

Yeah, same setup has Angie's car.

I found a glitch which I explained a bit, and I'd like to know if it's possible to use it as NG or will it be an obligation to create NG+.

And I've just finished my U2 guide.

By the way, you can get rid of the police if you kill the game :) The whole police charade takes roughly 25 seconds including loading screens and menus while restarting the game and loading your profile takes about 19. The game autosaves after each race, so there shouldn't be a problem with continuity. The question is if we should use it. I remember the same trick was used in old PoP: Warrior Within runs and noone had any problem with that.

I've tried it now again and not only I couldn't start the game afterwards for like 2 minutes, it didn't save my progress from yesterday, so it looks like the game saves when you go to main menu and I was totally wrong :) Well, shit happens.

OK, I think I have everything planned, I can start running now. I even managed to develop a strategy to pass Darius, but it's like 50:50 chance.

EDIT: Also, tuning is really weird in Carbon, at least for some cars.

I've run Carbon these last few days a bit, and now I can easily say that loading times are really slow on X360. A good PC with a SSD can easily gain 10-12 minutes. I drove 2:41, but I can gain 1.30 min in Kenji's territory, and I've been trolled hard with the cops in Silverton. On 360, I think that the best we can get should be around 2:35 with a perfect RNG...

Oh and by the way I found a trick to gain time if cops chase you after a race. Once you finished, you restart the race, and then leave for free roam after the countdown is done. It's obviously faster than being caught intentionnally, and faster than evading.

Good thinking with the cops chases. That will definitely save some time.

Btw, I've started segmented run yesterday to manipulate rng as much as possible. I'll do RTA later.

EDIT: For the cops chases evade, when you restart the race, does it still count as completed? Because if not, then the trick is useless.

I wouldn't have told this trick if it's not worth it. :) But now that you say this, I've got some doubts about this ^^

I'll try to do more RTA runs on 360 in the next few days, but right now I'm on MostWanted, I've started a segmented too.

Ok, I must apologize, this trick seems to not work properly. It worked once, and then no possibility to make it work again, I need to do the race again. So, never mind.

btw I did 2:38 today and I think it's possible to drive sub 2:30 on Xbox. But I need good RNG, and it's not the case atm, I got caught 6 times in Silverton...

Here's a little progress on my segmented run - finally I've managed to beat Kenji, get his car and get no territory attacks at the same time. What a luck... The good news is that I can pass Kenji basically 9/10 of all attempts. It seems that if you get him under pressure right from the start (visible on his facecam), he always crashes a bit right after the tunnel before hard left turn, which is the place where you can easily overtake him. Then just don't crash and you're fine.

Just did a new PB on 360, 2:30:48. Maybe I'll upload it if the time without loadings is ok. But I dunno what to think about this run. I didn't have to replay races cause of other crews, and cops busted me 2-3 times, so it's really good ( at least I didn't have such a good RNG till today). I lost nearly 3 minutes on Darius cause my car flipped on the last jump during the circuit race, and all in all I think I can gain 4 minutes if everything goes well.

I'll try to calculate my time without loads, and to compare, I'll do with Grim WR run, if it's OK.

@Grim & Ewil : You just need to be close to Kenji till the little tunnel. Then he'll fail the good line and go outside. Even if you mess a bit your turn, you can overtake him, if you hit him nicely.

I would recommend to include both times for better comparison.

You don't have to hit Kenji at all, you have to take the inside line and go under him.

I know, I know you don't have to hit it, I just said that if you failed your line on the turn you're supposed to overtake him, you can still do it by ramming him in the next turn.

And by the way, which time is taken into account in the leaderboards? With or without loads? I suppose with, but if it's the case, wouldn't it be better without?

Without loads should be preferred, but old runs may have to be retimed, otherwise I'm not sure what will happen if they only have with loads time.
