Forum: The Site

Thread: Suggestion: Be able to "follow" categories/games and get notifications when a new time is posted.

I was wondering about this too. In the future it would be nice to see some sort of "news feed" for the games we follow. This site is fantastic, and I'm really excited it exists because it's a great example of a project done right. Keep up the great work!

I was wondering the same thing! I included the Japanese titles and covers for the games I moderate but they don't appear anywhere besides the edit screen.

I've been using the Elgato Video Capture (for composite capture from my NES, SNES & PS2) and it has been extremely simple to use and nice quality without spending a ton of money. Don't get this confused with the Game Capture HD, which is much more expensive and creates a few seconds of lag (which is awkward when you're splitting a few seconds ahead of the game).

Thread: Are emulators allowed?

It really varies from game to game. Another factor is luck manipulation so if a game is save-stated after the RNG has been determined for a game (i.e. upon reset), then those factors will be identical each time the game is played.

However, in a simple platformer such as Super Mario Bros., the game doesn't really change much when played on an emulator (although things like the hammer bros. are questionable in certain versions).

It's definitely a grey issue, but generally, it's a safe bet to play on console when possible to avoid any doubt that you legitimately achieved your time. Hope that helps a little!

Beavis and Butt-head & Wayne's World were just added today and have since been set up, so who knows how many others on that list were brand new. I think the two week system is a good time frame.

Great idea. I've definitely stumbled across a few empty series so far and even some duplicates. This should clean things up a bit around here.
