rapid fire hop abuse

I think there might be a way to do rapid fire hop abuse. It's just a theory, but I have seen a similar trick in other games. You might be able to pause, then unpause, hop, pause again, leave it, pause, unpause and hop, but for all 60 frames, or if you're lucky and have a European wii, for all 50. While it probably wont save time in real time speedruns, it might be a good time trials trick. But hey, thats just a theory. (and since pause buffering is banned try using home buffering) edit: well scratch this whole thing its not allowed as of right now. while i feel like this should be an exception because it adds skill and not just straight realignments, im not sure if thatll ever happen. so if you want to you can practice this but itll just so you can beat your own pb. Thanks for your time anyway. Have a great day. edit 2: just for curoisty's sake im still gonna try it

I think you might be on to something. I´ll be sure to test that as soon as I get the chance

How would the hop abuse allow you to skip parts of the track? Its an intriguing Idea and I hope it works out, I wish i could test it but I dont have a wii in my posession.

I'm sad you didn't say "a game theory" at the end of that

there is a few ultra scs that use it and if this game every becomes that optimized, you can use it to get absolutely no air time on ramps.

United Kingdom

it might be possible but ngl it sounds extremely painful and long to do

in my head, it is harder than making a tas bot do rapid hops because you have to pause, unpause, and hop with small leeway to pause again.

But hey, that’s just a theory. A Game Theory! Thanks for watching.

that would only be possible with home buffering. after you unpause using start you have to wait a few frames before pausing again. with home buffering I think it is just 1 frame

These runs are timed with RTA. So it doesn’t matter because it’s going to be slower anyways.

If you’re talking about time trials, pause buffering is banned :)

Edit: 50Hz is also banned for time trials

that would bring so much skill to the table with these speedruns

and you also dont have to time it with rta and instead do in game time.

This is banned and stupid

Why is it stupid?

i know its banned but why is it stupid?

Because time trial are about real time skill not fake tasing

yes. I get that. However, What about the Waluigi Staduim ultra SC? I understand the whole no air trick thing, but this can open a window of skill for that track.
