So, the current world record for star cup (which does not have a video), is 7:58. If the world record times are taken and have load times added to them, the time would be approximately 7:44. The reasoning for there not being a video is that it was driven in the car. So this time is only 14 seconds off the best approximation of the best time that we can get. This would be near impossible in the best of circumstances (due to not having triple shrooms to start), and since at the start of neo bowser city and maka wuhu, it is best to slow down to get these triple shrooms, near perfect lines would have to be driven, and that's excluding factors such as blue shells and shocks. Should this be looked into?
I know that, I talked to Lafungo about that, and that's under "investigation" with 2 other times (1 for Star and 1 for Shell, and 2 other runs have already been removed from the Shell Cup leaderboards for the same reasons, -18 and -16 against theoretical best possible time lmao). That means I'll contact the runners shortly to ask for video proof of their run or something close to the time they're supposed to have, and if they can't provide that/don't reply within a month or so we'll remove those times. :)
OK, thanks for that information. Just didn't seem right to have times (since both first and second are way in front) that have therotetical near perfect rng without a video
